From two mythical brothers raised by a she-wolf to a Colombian woman who grew up among Capuchin monkeys, all the secrets about these wild children are revealed here.

We all know about feral cats, those little furballs that left the household and chose to roam the city streets. But what about wild children?

Throughout history, these children have been cut off from society, betrayed by their guardians, and thrown into the wild. According to reports, some of these outcasts were even raised by animals.

Romulus and Rem

Romulus and Remus were born into the family of the rulers of Alba Longa. Shortly after the birth of their children, their mother, Rhea Sylvia, was forced to leave her children in the Tiber River, a cruel decision on the part of her insidious uncle Amulius. But the river kept Romulus and Remus afloat, and a she-wolf soon saved them. She let the brothers suck her milk until the shepherd found the boys and took them to him.

Having learned the whole bitter truth about their birth, Romulus and Remus tracked down Amulius and killed him. Then they set out to create their own city. Unfortunately, their opinions differed on this issue. The dispute turned into a bloody confrontation, and the rest is ancient history. Romulus killed his brother, and then continued to search for the city, which he later named Rome in honor of himself.

Wild Boy Peter

In 1725, a group of hunters discovered a wild child wandering through a forest near a German town. He crawled on all fours, ate forest plants and could barely speak. Those who found this wild child recognized him as a completely uncivilized person.

Soon the boy was transported to Great Britain, where he was received by King George I. All attempts to give the boy proper upbringing proved to be a failure, although the child, so to speak, entered adulthood normally and lived up to 70 years. It is now believed that he most likely suffered from Pitt-Hopkins syndrome, a rare chromosomal disorder that affects normal development.

Marie-Angelique Memmie le Blanc

In the mid-1700s, a young girl lived in a forest in France in complete isolation. One day, Marie-Angelique (people already knew about her then) appeared with a ladle in her hand in search of water near the town of Songhi in Champagne. The villagers sent a large guard dog after her, but Marie-Angelique killed her with one fatal blow.

She left the forest only for food and water, which the villagers left for her. She did not speak French and only tried to communicate by shouting. In the end, a kind shepherd took her under his care and taught her to speak French.

After many years, Marie-Angelique began to remember what exactly led her to a wild existence. She claimed that she had once lived in warm regions, she was kidnapped and painted black, like a slave, and put in a boat. At some point, she fled to the forest of France, where she survived by eating raw plants and animals.

Victor of Aveyron

In the early 1800s, a little boy was seen in the forest. The wild child was clearly afraid of people. In the end, however, he appeared on his own. Without knowing a single language, he ate raw food, and his skin was covered with scars. It was obvious that he was wild for most of his life.

A doctor named Jean-Marc Gaspard Itard took the boy and named him Victor. Itard trained Victor for five years. The only words Victor reacted to were "milk" and "God".

Kaspar Hauser

In May 1828, a disheveled teenager ran out of the woods in Nuremberg with a letter to Captain von Wessing. The author of the letter claimed that the boy wants to become a soldier. An anonymous author asked von Wessing to accept or hang him.

Although the mysterious boy's vocabulary was limited, he said his name was Kaspar Hauser. The captain took him to the police, under the care of the state, but he refused to eat anything except bread and water. By 1832, Kaspar had found work in a small law firm and was under the tutelage of a school teacher named Johann Georg Meyer. Once Kaspar and Johann had a serious argument. Five days later, Kaspar returned home with a knife wound, from which he died.

His tombstone reads “Here lies Kaspar Hauser, a mystery of his time. His birth is unknown, his death is mysterious. 1833.

Gini

Jeanie's story is one of the saddest about wild children. She was born in California in 1957. Her father soon turned his back on his daughter for her mental deficiency and decided to separate her from the outside world.

Gini was locked in a dark room, where she was tied to a crib or toilet. No one was allowed to associate with her and she received very little food. By the time Jeanie turned 13, the Los Angeles authorities had just learned about the story. The girl did not know a single language, she had a strange gait. This indicated that her motor skills were severely impaired.

Too stubborn attention from the press caused so much stress that she soon lost all ability to speak. When she turned 18, her mother restricted all scientists from communicating with her family. Soon the girl was admitted to a psychiatric hospital.

Cambodian Jungle Girl

On January 13, 2007, a woman emerged from the jungle in Cambodia. She was completely naked and covered in mud, her whole body was scarred, the woman's identity was a mystery. News of the girl's strange appearance spread, and a villager named Sar Yo claimed to be his daughter, who disappeared 18 years ago. He said that she and her sister disappeared into the jungle.

How true Sar Yo's statements were is unknown, as he refused to undergo a DNA test. Another theory about a woman's personality has to do with her scars. Many believe that she was in captivity all this time.

The woman knew only three words and could not fully adapt to a civilized society. In 2010, she tried to escape to the only house she knew - the jungle. After a good psychiatric treatment, the girl returned to her father. According to eyewitnesses, she prefers to sleep in the chicken coop and goes out to eat several times a week.

Bird boy from Russia

In 2008, Russian social services rescued a boy whom his mother raised like a bird. His bedroom is a room filled with cages and birds, their food and excrement strewn across the floor. His only way to communicate? Tweeted like the feathered friends who surrounded him.

According to eyewitnesses, when the boy believed that his tweets were ignored, he flapped his arms like wings. Since then, the state has taken over his tutelage.

Amazingly, this is not the first time that children have been raised like animals. In 2006, Arthur Zverev barked like a dog and ran on all fours.

Marina Chapman

She was born in Colombia and claims that her childhood was completely alone in the jungle, with the exception of a group of Capuchin monkeys who watched her. She remembers that at the age of 4 she was taken out of the village and released into the wild.

She says she lived with a group of primates for several years until she met hunters. They quickly sold her to a brothel in Cucuta, where she became a slave. The girl managed to escape and leave for Bradford, where she married a scientist and gave birth to two children.

Daniel "Dani" Leerow

In 2008, the Tampa Bay Times published a special report on one of the most horrific cases of child abuse. In July 2005, a police officer answered a call from a Planta, Florida resident who saw a little girl's face in the window of a nearby house and was worried about possible abuse. When the authorities arrived at the house, they found a woman who was living in a house with cockroaches and spiders. Six-year-old Daniel lived in these terrible conditions.

She was taken away from her mother and sent to the hospital. The doctors got the impression that the girl was kept locked up, she never saw the sun. Her behavior and skills were like that of a baby.

Fortunately, this story has a happy ending. In 2007, the girl was adopted by a young couple. They named her Dani, brought her into the house and tried to rehabilitate this terribly insulted little girl.
