According to FDA research, genetically modified salmon (AquaAdvantage), which grows twice as fast as normal, does not harm the environment, and is also harmless as food for humans.

However, opponents of GMOs continue to call AquaAdvantage a "frankenfish". In response to moralists' concerns, the FDA argues that as a genetically engineered product, AquaAdvantage is not a clone: it's just a fish with a DNA structure altered to produce certain traits.

Genetic engineering is already widely used in agriculture, but genetically modified animals have remained taboo for consumers to this day.
