According to historians from England, along with scientists from Ireland, the riots that caused the weakening of Egypt were caused by a series of volcanic eruptions that occurred in the third century BC. This fact forces us to reconsider some of the earlier opinions of historians about the states of antiquity.

It is reported that this scientific work is currently being prepared for publication in the form of a monograph, while an abbreviated version has already been presented by scientists at the meeting of the European Union of Earth Sciences, which was held in Vienna at the end of April this year.

The authors of the work used information on the content of serious aerosols in the ice cores of Greenland, after which they compared this with historical information that relate to the Nile flood, they are stored in the nilometer records - these are structures where the river level is measured. It turned out that in four cases these spills are quite low, while this was recorded a year or two after the eruption of the volcano.

The results of the work are as follows: a number of social upheavals caused it. That the power of Egypt began to weaken in the last four centuries BC, when large volcanic eruptions occurred more often than in past centuries.
