A small stream flowing through one of the dense forests of the Rzhevsky region has long been known as an anomalous zone. According to old-timers, during the Second World War, Soviet positions were located here, which were under enemy mortar fire. Exhausted by hunger and fatigue, the soldiers for a long time could not get out of the enemy's encirclement, and only the stream flowing nearby did not allow them to die of thirst. Since then, at sunset or at dusk, near the stream, you can see the chronomy of the past years: silhouettes of soldiers taking water into flasks.
The DarkBook expedition decided to personally verify the information received, as we have already heard similar things from our informants. The team did not manage to find the right place for a long time - there were only approximate coordinates. Everywhere there was a dense forest, metal detectors were silent, as if the war had bypassed this zone. But the place we were looking for found us by itself, drawing attention to itself when we passed by.
The main goal of the expedition was to see the chrono-mirage and capture it on camera, therefore, photo and video filming was carried out constantly. As we set up camp, we found plenty of evidence that we were right with the location, from rusty Soviet cans to rotten ammunition. We will leave most of the finds behind the scenes for obvious reasons.
The atmosphere of the coniferous forest was gloomy. Even on a sunny day it was rather dark and damp here. But the worst part was that even the calm environment caused an inexplicable feeling of uneasiness. Our paranoia gradually progressed, but we had to work.
Every day at sunset, we made a detour around the stream, hoping to see the chronomire. A small black stream meandered and dispersed in the swamp, as if beckoning to the thicket. The chances of seeing the anomaly were extremely small, but it was worth trying. The attempts were unsuccessful, but, as it turned out, only partially …

Everyone was happy to leave this forest with its oppressive aura, even if we did not manage to carry out our plans. We are used to this, as we often check various rumors about the mysterious places of Russia, which are often not confirmed. But upon further viewing of the photographic materials in the editorial office, a surprise awaited us in one of the photographs.
During the entire stay in the forest, no one saw any fog, not even a hint of it. It is difficult to say what the camera was able to capture, but this is clearly not related to the weather conditions and lasted exactly a moment. Perhaps it is not in vain that this stream is called "cursed" and I think we now have a reason to return to this strange place again and study it better.
