There is in the north of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, about three hundred kilometers from Dudinka, a small village of Ust-Avam, where at most 500 people live. And just recently, the residents of the village suddenly discovered a rift and a lake nearby, in the tudra. The lake is among ice, and at a temperature of minus thirty. It is warm.

- Ours drove a little into the tundra and saw - the inhabitants of the village are studying the rift, amazed. - A lake, a real lake has come to the surface! And the caves appeared! In one we walked a little. Send more, let's see, don't be afraid, don't be afraid. See, it's warmer here, yes. It only smells. Some kind of rotten stuff (we are talking, most likely, about the smell of sulfur, - ed.).

A resident of Ust-Avam, Evgeny Aksonov, who was the first to start a researcher on a natural anomaly, noticed that it had changed since its appearance. It feels like the lake is gradually sinking into the ground.

It feels like the lake is gradually sinking into the ground.

- We are trying to contact the village, to find out the details, - told "Komsomolskaya Pravda" - Krasnoyarsk Leyla Langina, deputy director for scientific work of the Tamyr Museum of Local Lore. - So far it has not been possible, this is a remote settlement, there are interruptions in communication. So for this particular case, we are still collecting data. In general, our territory is an area of permafrost, soil interspersed with ice, therefore, such phenomena have occurred before, although not often.

For example, in 2013 a funnel with a diameter of about 4 meters and a depth of over 60 meters was found by a hunter near the village of Nosok at the mouth of the Yenisei River, it was named "Taimyr funnel".

Until now, there is no generally accepted version regarding its origin. A senior researcher at the Siberian Research Institute of Geology, Geophysics and Mineral Resources from the city of Novosibirsk, Vladimir Alexandrovich Epifanov, examined the funnel in detail, believes that this is the result of a gas release. By the way, in just a year and a half it turned into a pit partially filled with water. Over the two summer seasons, as a result of the melting of permafrost and the collapse (sliding, erosion) of the walls of the funnel, its diameter has increased more than 15 times, and the depth has decreased by 3/4.

Perhaps the sinkhole in the Ust-Avam area was formed not today or yesterday, a little earlier, but the residents noticed the “lake” only recently. Because first, faults form, and then gradually fill with water. In any case, this is an interesting subject for study, I think this event will attract the attention of specialists.

SPECIALIST COMMENT

- Interesting, very interesting! - Vladimir Epifanov, senior researcher of the Siberian Research Institute of Geology, Geophysics and Mineral Resources (FSUE SNIIGGiMS) answered our call. - These phenomena are poorly studied, but they are of great interest. The area you are talking about is "alive". There, at great depths, processes are constantly going on, which can be displayed on the surface in this way. The video shows that it is hydrogen sulfide. Locals say that the lake is warm, it is easy to explain. The water rose from the depths. It is known that the temperature rises by 1-3 degrees every 100 meters deep into the Earth (growth occurs in the upper part of the earth's crust, approximately the first 20 kilometers, then slows down). I can assume that the rift and the lake were formed a little earlier than the locals discovered. Such things are the appearance of geological faults, the movements of the earth's masses are closely related to cosmic phenomena, with gravity. Perhaps it all started with the vernal equinox, March 21st, followed by "tense" 10 days until the end of the month. But, again, all this needs to be studied in order to draw any conclusions.
