More than 60 years ago, one of the most mystical events in the history of the USSR took place. On the outskirts of Kuibyshev, now Samara, a young girl named Zoya froze with an icon of Nicholas the Wonderworker in her hands. Crowds of people flocked to Zoe's house, and party officials did everything to cover up this event, which undermined atheistic beliefs.
This amazing incident took place on December 31, 1956, at 84 Chkalov Street.
A young pipe plant worker named Zoya Karnaukhova was going to celebrate the New Year with her friends.
The young people broke up in pairs, and only Zoya missed being alone - her fiancé Nikolai lingered somewhere.
When the dancing began, Zoya announced that since her Nicholas had not come yet, she would dance "with St. Nicholas." Approaching the corner where the icon of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker hung, she took it down from the wall.
Friends urged the girl not to commit such sacrilege, but she was adamant. “If God exists, then let him punish me!” - said Zoya and started dancing, clutching the icon to her chest.
Suddenly, something unimaginable began in the room: everyone felt a strong gust of wind and saw a dazzling flash of light. Young people ran out of the house screaming. Everyone except Zoe. The girl froze in one position and stopped showing signs of life. Only the pounding of her heart made it clear that she was still alive.
The frightened youth called an ambulance. Doctor Anna Kalashnikova arrived to the call.

Rumors of an incident
Anna returned home shocked. And although she was forbidden to talk about this case, the woman told her sister about the "stone Zoya", about whose body the needles of syringes were breaking.

Unanswered questions
From a scientific and medical point of view, it is difficult to explain how the girl could survive 128 days without water or food. When asked about this, she replied that "she was fed by pigeons."
Metropolitan doctors who came to study this case, only shrugged. They believed that the girl was suffering from some special form of tetanus or catatonic stupor, but these diagnoses were not confirmed.
They say that after this incident, the people massively reached for the church. Many people were baptized, and those who were baptized attended services and bought icons and candles.
Perhaps this incident happened for a reason in an atheistic communist state. After all, as you know, "until the thunder breaks out, the peasant does not cross himself."
