Not only Japanese dogs are distinguished by their devotion to the owner. Cases similar to the famous story of the most faithful dog Hachiko from Japan also occurred in Russian cities. Perhaps you have also witnessed such touching stories of dog love and loyalty?

A terrible car accident on the outskirts of Togliatti in one second claimed both the lives of one young family, only one dog survived, who was at that time in the car with the newlyweds. From a strong frontal impact, the dog was literally thrown out of the car. This German shepherd named Kostya (translated from Latin means constancy, devotion, perseverance) has been waiting for its beloved owners by the road at the accident site for seven years since 1995.

The dog was not very large and did not have good physical fitness, but it turned out to be very hardy. Every day from early morning Kostya walked to the road to the scene where the owners of the shepherd were killed. With anguish and angry hatred, he threw himself at almost every car passing by, considering it his enemy and the killer of the owners. The tired dog lay down right on the road, put his grieving face on his broken paws and with irrepressible longing in his eyes waited for the owner to return.

He came to the place of his terrible loss every day, regardless of snow, rain, storm, cold or heat. With a joyful squeal, the German shepherd rushed to the cherry cars for the nines, picking them out of the dense stream of cars, each time believing that this was the very car from which the long-awaited owner would finally come out and gently pat his ear with love.

For all seven years, the locals left food for Kostya, but he did not let anyone close to him, remaining faithful to his only master. The dog did not recognize the wooden booth built especially for him, and continued to run alone along the track, looking for the familiar features of a loved one, or having quieted down, lay quietly by the road.

Kostya died imperceptibly, far from people in the depths of the forest, and there they found his lifeless body. In order not to upset their owners, often dogs, sensing impending death, move away from human dwelling and die alone in the distance. So Kostya went into the forest, making sure that his beloved owner did not see his death when he returned to the place of their sudden separation. For such loyalty to the legendary shepherd dog Kostya, they even erected a small bronze monument on the outskirts of the Avtozavodsky district of the city of Togliatti. On a granite pedestal with the inscription "Monument of Devotion" sits and patiently waits for its owner now a bronze dog, as if watching the cars passing by. The frozen statue of the dog has become a symbol of loyalty and endless love, as a reminder to people themselves of the boundless devotion of the legendary dog.

Another amazing case of endless dog loyalty occurred in the Rostov region. An ordinary mongrel was hit by a car. The people who caused her such pain and suffering drove away, leaving the unfortunate animal with broken paws to die in the garbage pit. The dog dying in the street was picked up by a bystander, who then nursed the mongrel for a long time. Then the woman found the injured dog, on the Internet, new owners and gave the cured animal in good hands. The new owners lived in another city at a distance of 300 kilometers.

Imagine the amazement of the woman who went out to the poor thing when one day she felt a push of a dog's nose near her feet. Turning around, the woman saw a tired, emaciated animal. For two weeks, the dog with broken, not yet fully healed paws traveled back home to the savior who was treating her. The dog's eyes, full of tears and bitterness, looked pitifully at the former owner. Of course, the woman's heart sank, and she left the mongrel to live with her. Until now, it remains a big mystery how a devoted dog found its beloved mistress in a big city, because during these two weeks of wandering the crippled dog, the woman has already changed her place of residence. The press, having learned about this touching case, christened the staunch faithful mongrel with the name of Rostov Hachiko.

On one of the outskirts in the Yakut city of Yakutsk, local residents were struck by the display of nobility and devotion demonstrated by a homeless mongrel dog. For days and nights, even in the most severe frost, he remained at the place where his friend, a dog named Laika, died. For the fantastic loyalty to the deceased companion of the Yakut dog, the locals nicknamed Hachiko. People from all over the city came to see the miracle mongrel, despite the frost of fifty degrees. For more than three weeks the dog did not leave the place where his girlfriend, waiting for puppies, died under the wheels of a car. When his companion was dying, he lay down beside her, warming her and unborn puppies with his warmth. The corpse of the animal was soon removed, but the Yakut Hachiko did not go far from here. Employees of the local garage cooperative built a warm kennel for the dog,but the dog did not even look into it and stoically endured the severe cold, remaining on the road in dreary anticipation. Good people tried to take the mongrel to their dog shelter, but the suffering dog moaned and howled mournfully all night, and then gnawed through the fence net and ran back to the sad place for him, easily overcoming the distance from the shelter of seven kilometers.

The story, consonant with the legendary story of the famous Japanese dog Hachiko, took place in Komsomolsk-on-Amur, Khabarovsk Territory. A dog that has lost its owner has been waiting for him by the road at the site of the tragedy for twelve years.

Any dog is sincerely devoted to its owner or friend until the last minutes of its short life, regardless of the human qualities and attitude of its owner to himself. Almost every country in the world has a monument to a dog as a sign of reverence for an animal faithful to man. In Japan, Italy, France, America, Russia, the memorial inscriptions of such pedestals say one thing, let the dog's selfless love and devotion become a lesson in loyalty to all people.
