The legacy left over from the powerful Egyptian civilization still haunts researchers. The pyramids are the only wonder of the world that has survived to this day and there is still nothing like that created by modern man. Separately, it is worth noting the majestic Sphinx, which has been silently guarding Giza for many centuries …

This huge statue is approximately 4,500 years old, but researchers believe the Sphinx may actually be much older. And even his head may initially be completely different. Now we see a huge stone body of a lion with the head of a pharaoh, presumably Khafre. It was built, according to archaeologists, immediately after the first pyramid, that is, about 4500 years ago. However, many scientists were haunted by the disproportionate head and body of the sphinx. A logical theory was presented by the English geologist Colin Reeder, who discovered an interesting detail.

To begin with, I must say that under the Giza plateau there is a huge network of tunnels that connect the pyramids and the Sphinx. Colin is convinced that this is just an underground palace that (most likely) just sunk. Another interesting phenomenon is that rain erosion can be found on the body of the sphinx. This is impossible considering the age of 4,500 years ago. This means that the Sphinx was built several millennia earlier, when there were still rains on this territory. This is comparable to a network of tunnels lurking underground, which is full of artifacts.

Historical architect Jonathan Foyle noted that the head of the Sphinx is out of proportion to the body, which raises a lot of questions. He suggested that the Sphinx originally had a different head, namely a lion. This is logical, because the lion was a powerful symbol of power for the Egyptians. After all, the Sphinx already has the body of a lion … Scientists have suggested that later generations of the Egyptians simply carved another face out of the lion's face of the Sphinx.

Another scientist, Robert Schoch, calculated that conditions were favorable for long-term water erosion, which was found on the stones of the sculpture, in the 6-5 millennium BC. This date differs by several millennia from the generally recognized beginning of the early Egyptian civilization and therefore is not accepted by most scientists.

In order to investigate the new date for the construction of Egyptian structures, a lot of research is needed, so the official version remains the one that was adopted in the last century.
