In the provincial Indian town of Madhavnagar, a baby was born who was covered with hair.
The month old girl doesn't have a name yet. But she's already become a local celebrity alongside her mom and aunts. Almost all young women in this Indian family suffer from Werewolf's syndrome, or hypertrichosis - increased hair growth throughout the body.
The baby is covered from head to toe with dark down, like a wolf cub, which causes alarm in her 26-year-old mother Savita Sambhaji Raut, writes The Sun. Before the birth of the baby, the woman prayed for the deliverance of the child from the difficult heritage of the family. Nevertheless, the young mother believes that God created them like that, so the disease should be taken as a kind of gift.
The Savita family has two more sisters suffering from hypertrichosis - 19-year-old Monisha and 17-year-old Savitri. Savita's daughter is one of only a few hundred people in the world who are born with this syndrome. Unfortunately, doctors have not yet found any cure for this disease.
