On March 15, at about 11 p.m., the crew of the car of the Lyangasovsky POM (settlement police station), consisting of a police sergeant A. M. Baranov and a police foreman V. I. Kassin, while patrolling the Lyangasovo settlement, noticed that in the sky, towards the village Boroviki of the Kirovo-Chepetsk region, a strange glow is observed. Fire? We decided to drive up to the crossing railway bridge at Lyangasovo station and try to clarify the source of the glow by climbing the bridge.
From Sergeant Major Cassin's report:
“… It was 2-3 times larger than the disk of the moon, bright yellow, in the shape of an egg, but not pronounced, pointed, directed in the opposite direction according to observation, on the surface of the object there were glare resembling a“playing sun”, the highlights were white over the entire surface. The object was at the height of the treetops, but did not touch them."
From the report of the senior police sergeant V. E. Votnitsev, a police officer of the Department of Internal Affairs at Lyangasovo station:
“… I saw an unknown object of bright yellow color, 2 times the size of the sun, the shape of an ellipse, in the eastern part there is a small depression, the ellipse is stretched horizontally. From it to the bottom rays were going, they were very bright, in the form of rain … When I looked at the object, my eyes immediately ached and tears flowed, because it was very bright."
Senior lieutenant of militia Mozhaev S. A. on duty at the LOVD describes the events as follows:
“On March 15, 1990, at about 24 hours, I went out into the street and decided to walk along the platform.
Opposite the station building, I noticed a very large ball, it was dark yellow. 1 wide beam went down from the ball, which shone for a very short period of time, then disappeared. The ball itself bifurcated at a distance of about 5-8 meters from the main one, in the direction of the east there was a circle of 1 more ball, but not on the entire circumference, the ball glowed in the form of a scarlet glow.

The glow rose visually from the ball by three or four meters. If you are guided by the trees, then the ball hung over the very crowns, even a little lower, if you look from the bridge over the paths. After about 10-12 minutes, the color of the ball changed from dark yellow to light yellow and, as it seemed to me at first, began to move to the west. I took a tree trunk as a guide and made sure that the ball really began to move. The time was 0 hours 8 minutes. Having moved some distance, the ball dissolves."
And here is what Ye. B. Kolenkova, the ticket clerk at Lyangasovo station, told about the events of that memorable night:
“At 23 hours 45 minutes a policeman Votintsev knocked on the window of the ticket office and said that aliens had arrived and that I should run to the crossing bridge. When I ran to the bridge, I saw in the sky an object of dark yellow color, the size of the sun at sunset, that is, an increased size. The object was hanging low, just above the treetops. I noted that constantly looking at an object hurts the eyes, but there were no rays from it, it was glowing, the effect is like looking at an electric bulb for a long time. The object seemed to change in volume, and something was crumpled inside. When I tried to look more intently, I saw horizontal glare at the spherical object."
Analyzing eyewitness accounts, one can make the assumption that the object changed its shape, possibly due to its rotation. Such an interesting and yet inexplicable phenomenon was observed on the night of March 15-16 from the Lyangasovo village.
By the way, the attempt of the senior lieutenant of the LOVD officer to interest our meteorologists in this phenomenon was unsuccessful - alas, they are only interested in the weather.
