Gero scientists have concluded that human life can be extended indefinitely. In their opinion, life expectancy does not really depend on biological factors.

Russian scientists have questioned the Strehler - Mildvan correlation principle, proposed in the 60s, according to which the probability of death grows exponentially with age. However, while investigating the life cycle of nematode worms, Gero found evidence that this method was wrong.

“Usually, within the framework of the theory of aging, we worked with a small amount of data, and now, thanks to new data on nematodes, it has been verified how the correlation will behave on a large amount of good quality data,” explained one of the authors of the work, Andrey Tarkhov.

In the end, it turned out that this correlation is a data processing error. In this connection, Russian scientists are inclined to believe that in the future it will be possible to find a way to eternal life.

Note that biotech company Gero focuses on finding therapeutic approaches against aging, including the development of drugs for the treatment of age-related diseases. The company also develops drugs for the treatment of cancer, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease and infectious diseases.
