In the Caspian Sea, mermaids have become more and more often seen. Local scientist Adil Korzabaev believes that this is due to the deterioration of the ecological situation - the sea is becoming more and more polluted, especially due to oil production.
In addition, says the Azerbaijani explorer of the Caspian Sea Samad Jafarov, who has personally seen these mystical creatures more than once, mermaids do not like poachers and often attack them. Poaching is increasing - there are more "rumors" and stories about the antics of mermaids. And this is despite the fact that people who are faced with this incomprehensible sea element, most often try to keep quiet about such contacts: they will still be considered a madman.
For example, one poacher describes his encounter with this sea creature this way. I did not have a job then, and in order to somehow feed my family, I was engaged in illegal fishing at night. One such night I went to check the networks, and take the motor and fail. So I rowed back on the oars, and suddenly someone began to knock on the bottom of the boat. I got scared, I rowed even harder, then a mermaid appeared out of the water, stared at me with her huge black eyes. I prayed, began to ask her to spare me, because I have a wife and children at home. The mermaid somehow easily slipped into my boat, I contrived and hit her with an oar, after which I received such a lightning blow in the jaw that I passed out. I woke up - I was lying on the shore.
Samed Jafarov claims that mermaids are capable of cleaning the Caspian Sea, he noticed that after this creature swims, in that place the water becomes crystal clear for a day or two. Some scientists around the world, he says, claim that descendants of the Atlanteans live in the Caspian. It is no coincidence that the peoples living around the Caspian Sea have a belief that the Runanshah (as mermaids and mermaids have been called here since ancient times) once came out of the sea and taught people construction, writing and many other wisdom.
Why mermaids don't make contact with humans
Adil Korzabaev recalls that in 1998, the world-famous explorer of the deep sea, Jacques-Yves Cousteau, arrived in the Caspian to study mermaids. The French scientist and the greatest romantic of the twentieth century, who invented scuba diving and revealed many secrets of the sea, wanted to make sure that the Runanshah were fiction or real sea creatures.

But it is known that the researcher took an oath of silence from his team, and either destroyed all the video materials about this expedition, or handed it over to safe hands. It seems that he managed to find the city of mermaids and even visit it, but he chose not to advertise this information. Or the Runanshah asked him about it, realizing perfectly well that humanity is not yet ready for contact with their world.
