American and Canadian scientists have determined the optimal duration of meditation sessions. A related study was published in the journal Consciousness and Cognition and is briefly reported by the University of Waterloo (Canada).

For meditation, as scientists believe, it is enough to spend about 10 minutes daily. During this time, as the authors note, the level of anxiety decreases and the focus on current tasks increases.

Scientists came to similar conclusions after assessing the impact of this practice on the well-being of 82 volunteers. The participants were divided into two groups, whose members were asked to complete the task on a computer. People from the group who were distracted during the assignment to meditate did better.

Meditation involves performing special actions - usually, taking a certain posture in combination with breathing exercises. As a result, a person manages, in particular, to achieve increased concentration on any phenomenon or object. The practice came into everyday life from the ancient religious movements of India and China.
