The famous Volga researcher of anomalous phenomena Gennady Belimov and the Volgograd researcher of unexplored phenomena of the psyche and nature Roman Valiulin, during one of their expeditions to the Medveditskaya ridge, found a noticeable pebble under their feet. There are many amazing things in these parts, so it was decided to leave a strange-looking stone as a souvenir

“The first thing that caught my eye was a through hole of the same shape on both sides,” says Roman Valiulin, curator of the Consciousness research group. - The area around the hole is melted. Most likely, he was struck by linear lightning, which is not uncommon in these places. This means that we are dealing with a unique sample, because the shape of the hole in this case is the shape of the lightning itself.

In order to examine the melted sample, it had to be sawed, however, he succumbed with difficulty: neither a hacksaw nor a grinder helped. A tiny piece of the melted part, which was still managed to be obtained, was taken to the laboratory of VolSU.

Geologists, barely looking at it, declared that it is sandstone, which, by the way, is about 90 million years old!

When a melted piece of an interesting stone fell into the hands of Valentina Boeva, engineer of the laboratory of metallographic methods of forensic examination, it became finally clear that the researchers had discovered a truly unique specimen.

“Having studied the stone, Valentina Vasilyevna made sure that the melted part of the stone, in all likelihood, contains an element unknown to science,” Valiulin continues. - "There are no analogues of this substance among those known to science!" - with these words the official document on the conducted research ends, confirmed by the seal of the Physics Department of VolSU.

The combat one was never able to etch (etching is a combination of a certain reagent with the structural components of the test substance to determine its structural components) a mysterious element that is contained in the melted stone structure and is the main link of an unknown alloy. Its hardness turned out to be unusually high: above 80 HRC units on average.

Promotional video:

- Of all earthly substances and elements, the most difficult to etch is stainless steel, the hardness of which is 75, 80 HRC units and higher. It is pickled in aqua regia at 50 degrees Celsius. In just eight seconds! - say the chemists. - A melted piece of a pebble from Lysaya Gora lay in aqua regia at a temperature of 70 degrees for a whole minute. Apart from the incomprehensible film surrounding the melted part, nothing happened.

The stone from the Bald Mountain of the Medveditskaya ridge has not yet revealed its secret. Volgograd scientists believe that in the alloy formed at temperatures above 2000 degrees Celsius, an unknown chemical element has arisen as a result of an uncertain reaction … But only further research will help to answer this question exactly.

Today, there are 118 elements in the periodic table, six more are discovered, but not named. The periodic system is constantly supplemented by scientists from laboratories in America, Japan and the Russian Skolkovo.

Time will tell whether the Volgograd researchers will be on a par with them. In the meantime, the only thing known about the "Volgograd element" is that its hardness is higher than the hardness of materials used in the space industry.
