Mount Baigong Shan, located in the Chinese province of Qinghai, has been exciting the minds of historians and researchers of the paranormal for many years.
On one of the mountain slopes there is a pyramid-shaped structure, which by all indications is of artificial origin - the structure consists of metal pipes extending far into the thickness of the rock. According to some researchers, the age of the pipes is so great that, most likely, the pyramid was not created by people - at that time there was simply no technology necessary to implement such a project.
Employees of Atlas Obscura (an organization that searches and describes extraordinary cultural and natural sites unfairly bypassed by popular tourist routes) believe that the pyramid could have been erected by aliens:
“The diameter of hollow pipes ranges from a few millimeters to 40 cm, and they are arranged not chaotically, but in a certain order. Metal tubes penetrate deep enough into the rock so as not to be conspicuous. The nomads inhabiting this area hardly had such developed metallurgical skills, so the pyramid was not their work, most likely, some more developed civilizations intervened here."
However, supporters of "extraterrestrial" theories about the origin of this structure will have to take into account the results of the latest scientific research by some scientists. According to them, "rusty metal pipes" are nothing more than the fossilized remains of the roots of a tree. As a result of diagenesis (the gradual transformation of the soil into rock), the roots were "embedded" into the rock, and then turned into something resembling rusty metal pipes in appearance and properties.
By the way, researchers have already found confirmation of this theory - organic matter and even the remains of tree rings have been found in the material of which the "pipes" are made.
