In the next 20 years, the installation of a Russian scientific base is planned on the Moon. This was stated by the head of the manned space programs of the state corporation "Roscosmos" Sergei Krikalev.
The director of Roscosmos shared that a plan for landing on the moon had been set before 2030, and the next stage, until 2035, would begin to establish a lunar base and station. Krikalev said that most likely, the base will be something similar to a scientific laboratory. A full-scale settlement on a terrestrial satellite will not take place any time soon.

RSC Energia believes that Russia should unite with other leading space powers and continue to provide mutual benefit in relation to each other. Following the approved plan for space exploration, specialists from Russia should be on the Earth satellite already in 2030. The first ships to be sent to the moon will be reconnaissance probes - Luna-Resource and Luna-Glob. The launch will take place in 2019. In addition, in 2030, Russia may begin building an orbital base. For this, Roskosmos previously asked the government to allocate 2 trillion rubles. The disbursement of funds must occur before 2025.
Although, there are other offers that are more profitable. The Russian organization Lin Industrial, a resident of Skolkovo, has expressed a desire to create a base on the moon for less than Roscosmos and the Russian Academy of Sciences. The holding assures that only 550 billion rubles are enough to implement the project. It should be noted that the place where the Russian lunar base could be built in the future has already been chosen. The territory was determined by scientists from Roscosmos. The site is located on the edge of the crater.
The Russian side is actively working towards studying the Moon. Thus, in February it became known about the formation of a unique drill for the lunar soil. It, according to experts, will make it possible to drill two-meter holes in the upper ball of the satellite and collect water for study.
