The Mariana Trench turned out to be the most polluted and toxic place on the planet, even more than the dirtiest rivers on Earth - Zhujiai and Liaohe. Scientists came to such conclusions after analyzing the composition of the bodies of crustaceans raised from the depths.

This information was provided to the public and published a scientific article in the journal Nature by one of the researchers Alan Jameson from the University of Aberdeen, Scotland. The specimens, which have undergone careful analysis, are crustaceans and microbes raised from the depths of the Mariana Trench and the deep Kermadec Trench, located near New Zealand, during last year's NOAA scientific expedition.

The result of the study was confirmation that all waste and toxic substances thrown into the oceans do not disappear over time, but drown in deep-sea holes. Subsequently, they accumulate and pose a real threat to marine and oceanic life.

In the Mariana Trench, toxic substances are concentrated 15 times more than in the Kermadec Trench and many times higher than in the most polluted places on the planet in the coastal industrial zones of the ocean or on land in river beds.

The study showed that human activity harms absolutely all inhabitants, even in the greatest depths on Earth.
