The TV presenter, created with the latest AI technologies, looks like a man with a voice, facial expressions and gestures of a real person. “He” learns to broadcast on his own and can read texts like a professional TV news presenter.
The TV presenter was developed as part of a joint venture between Xinhua News Agency, the official media office of China and the Chinese search company Sogou.com.

According to Xinhua, "he" has become a member of the agency's reporter team and can work 24 hours a day on the official website and various social media platforms, reducing news production costs and increasing efficiency.
First of all, the realism of the new TV presenter is striking. It is not difficult to assume that over time it will only get better and the day will come when it will be impossible to distinguish artificial intelligence on the screen from a real person.
They also write that Xinhua has created two such TV presenters - one for news in Chinese, the other for news in English. With the help of virtual presenters, which are synchronized with synthesized voice, the agency can generate news broadcasts around the clock, without the need for the services of live people on the screen.
