The Utenkov family lives in the ordinary century-old village of Orlovka, which is located in the Katav-Ivanovsky district. As soon as the snow melted from their garden, a huge hole appeared in the ground. The owners of the site say that it happened around April 21, 2014. Local residents put forward different versions about the causes of the phenomenon.
The residents of South Urals doubt that the pit could have been the result of a natural disaster. The fact is that the funnel is almost geometrically regular in shape. It goes into the ground one and a half meters. Its diameter is the same. Old-timers note that such mysticism did not happen in their memory.

“At first, when we saw a hole from afar, we thought it was a mole, but we approached and gasped, we have been living here for 18 years, nothing like this has happened,” the owner of the garden plot, Svetlana Utenkova, told local journalists. - That year, as before, we plowed a vegetable garden, everything was fine. The day before yesterday they were still letting out sheep. Since they did not fail, it means that the hole appeared exactly yesterday, April 21. Most of all, this pit amazes with its even, neat walls, as if it were carefully scraped out.
Residents are now afraid to graze livestock on their land
According to one version, groundwater is to blame. However, residents are more likely to believe that there is something mystical in their area. It is difficult to imagine that nature could work the land so skillfully. The owners of the site are at a loss: they are afraid whether it is possible to plant vegetables and graze cattle in the garden.
