In 1994, farmer Terry Sherman purchased an abandoned ranch in Utah (USA). The oddities began on the day the Shermans were moving furniture to their new home. A huge wolf approached them. He behaved like a pet and was so close that the farmers could smell "wet dog". Terry shot the beast with a gun. The wolf remained in place. Two more shots … The animal backed slightly, but no wounds or blood were visible … Only after the sixth shot the wolf rushed away.
A couple of weeks later, Gwen, Sherman's wife, again met a wolf - so huge that his back reached the top of the car window. He was accompanied by an animal that looked like a dog, which Gwen could not identify.
In the spring of 1995, the Shermans began to notice mysterious objects. Mrs. Sherman saw a huge triangle surrounded by flashing lights like a disco. It hovered soundlessly over the car before speeding off with lightning speed. Somehow Terry saw a silvery disc that disappeared inside a ridge!
All family members observed dozens of times orange circles that appeared in the western part of the sky at about the same place. One evening Terry spotted what looked like "another sky" inside a strange circle. Through the telescope, he clearly saw the blue sky: the orange circle looked like a window somewhere else, where day was still.
Meanwhile, mysterious animals continued to appear. Driving through the ranch in broad daylight, Terry and Gwen saw a small, very muscular animal with curly red hair and a bushy tail attack a horse. Sherman rode closer and saw the predator disappear before his eyes. Once - and no! They examined the horse and found numerous claw marks on its legs.
On the ranch every now and then they saw exotic colorful birds, clearly not local, which were not identified. There were also meetings with dark creatures two meters tall, reminiscent of the "Bigfoot".
The farm dogs seemed to develop paranoia. They sat in booths all day, too scared to go out for food. One night, six cats disappeared at once. The cattle soon began to disappear too. One cow vanished from a snowy field. Terry saw hoof tracks leading to the field, which suddenly broke off, as if a cow had been taken to heaven.

A total of 14 Sherman record-holding animals were killed or disappeared by someone. A cow was once found dead just five minutes after Sherman's son saw her alive. “Something” cut a hole 15 cm wide and 60 cm deep in the rear rump. There were no traces of blood on the cow or on the snowy ground.
The mystery becomes known
Terry was silent for a long time, realizing that it would be impossible to sell the ranch to someone if the truth about these outrages became known. But in the end, the Deseret News newspaper learned about the ranch, and the Shermans' life became even more difficult: at night they were pursued by anomalous phenomena, and during the day - by crowds of curious people.
Some visitors got to see more than they would like. In June 1996, a tall man came to Terry and did something like meditation in the middle of a field, closing his eyes and raising his hands up. Suddenly, in the nearby forest, something began to move rapidly. Terry, who was nearby, could not distinguish the shape of the object, but saw that it was large. Then something blurry came out of the forest and quickly headed towards the "meditator". Standing in front of him, "it" uttered a "uterine animal roar", sounding like a mixture of bear and lion growls. According to Terry, it was something almost transparent, reminiscent of a disguised creature in the movie "Predator". The frightened "meditator" ran away. Screaming hysterically, he left the ranch and never came back.
At the same time, it turned out that the ranch has long enjoyed a bad reputation among the Utah Indians living in the valley. They said that this land "is on the trail of the werewolf."
Billionaire buys miracles
Hotel tycoon Robert Bigelow has long been known as a fan of space exploration. A few years ago, he announced a $ 50 million prize for the person or company who can build a five-seater ship that can regularly shuttle between the Earth and the Moon. Another eccentric project of the moneybag is a hotel in orbit. The Nautilus Hotel should open its floodgates by 2015. Bigelow is collaborating with NASA, and a miniature copy of the hotel has already been sent into space.
Everyone recognizes that the millionaire's ideas, although grandiose, are quite feasible, capable of making a profit. However, now it became known about another of his ventures. Robert Bigelow wanted to connect … with the other world. And he acquired a piece of land known as "Hell's Ranch" or "the strangest place on the planet." Let everyone decide for himself: whether to believe what they say about this place. But a calculating millionaire does not waste money in vain …
Robert Bigelow bought the Sherman ranch for two hundred thousand dollars - cheaper than Terry paid for it. The Shermans have moved to another, smaller ranch located 20 miles from the "damned". They could have sold the land at a higher price, but they wanted to be in a safe place as soon as possible.
Bigelow has organized a permanent watch on the ranch of scientists and former police officers who can collect material evidence. Responsible for the study of the ranch was the National Institute of Advanced Sciences, created in 1995 by Robert Bigelow specifically to study UFOs and anomalous phenomena. The group, which settled on the ranch, was led by biologist Kolm Kelleher.
The billionaire has done everything to avoid the influx of the curious. A local newspaper issued a warning: “Visitors to Sherman's ranch are not needed. The ranch is patrolled 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and we declare that violators will be arrested and punished to the fullest extent of the law … All you see if you cross its border is a prison …"
One of the terms of the deal was that Sherman and his wife should come to the ranch during the day and help the scientists: Colm Kelleher suspected that Terry and Gwen could "attract" anomalies.
Research begins
From late 1996 until the summer of 2006, a group led by Kelleher worked on the ranch. They equipped the command post, installed video cameras and other devices throughout the territory, erected a new fence, and erected observation posts on all pastures. This was the most intense and thorough surveillance ever undertaken in the anomalous zones.
Contrary to skeptical predictions, anomalous phenomena did not evaporate under scientific supervision.
“I have encountered several phenomena that are difficult for me to explain,” Kelleher said. - I personally saw several incomprehensible flying luminous balls and was a few meters away from the scientist when he described an object visible through night vision binoculars, which I could not see … Once I noticed how a soundless fast flying object rushed from the north, described at high speed the correct loop over the command post and returned to the north."
However, all attempts to photograph or film them were mostly in vain. After a couple of months of round-the-clock observation, a frightening course of action began to emerge: the phenomenon seems to be able to anticipate the actions of scientists. If they placed cameras and observers in the southern field, activity would occur in the northern pasture. If they watched the central area, the activity could have shifted to the ridge overlooking the ranch.
Events more and more resembled a game of cat and mouse. According to Kelleher, it looked like the phenomenon was "always a couple of steps ahead of us, every now and then leaving us business cards in the form of cruelly ripped cow carcasses, unusual footprints in the snow, teasing infrared images."
Dinosaur Shooting?
One evening, the barking of dogs alerted the group that someone was hiding in a tree near the house. Sherman, who was at that time in his old house by agreement with Bigelow, grabbed a hunting rifle, got into the truck and drove there. Two scientists followed him. Among the branches of the trees, they saw the huge yellowish eyes of a reptile. The animal's head was about a meter wide. At the base of the tree was someone else: something huge, hairy, with massive, muscular front legs and a head like a dog's.
Sherman, an excellent marksman, opened fire on both creatures from a distance of 35 meters. The creature on the ground seemed to have disappeared, and the one sitting on the tree fell to the ground: Terry heard it collapse heavily. All three rushed through the bushes, thinking that they would see a wounded animal, but did not find any "reptile" or traces of blood. The next day, a professional tracker arrived at the ranch, but he, too, examined the site, found nothing.
But one trace still remained. The print preserved in the snow was rather large, three-toed, with sharp claws at the ends of the fingers. It closely resembled the footprint of a Velociraptor, a dinosaur made famous in the movie Jurassic Park.
Two days earlier, another animal was found slaughtered. Sherman and his wife spent the day pinning tags to the ears of the newborn calves. After attaching the tag to the ear of the calf near the house, they left for the pasture for about 45 minutes. While the Shermans were only 200 meters away, the calf was dismembered. Someone spread his insides on the ground, and cut off the meat, leaving only bones and skin. There was no blood anywhere.
Scientists at the ranch quickly examined the scene and sent the remains to two pathological laboratories. Both pathologists said the calf was dismembered with two different instruments: one that looked like a heavy machete and the other that looked like sharp scissors. How it was done in broad daylight on an open pasture, in full view of farmers, remains a mystery.
The second calf disappeared the same morning after the branding: it was never found. Only 12 animals have met a similar end since Bigelow acquired the ranch along with the herd.
The devilry continues
Sometimes the "gates" were opened to another world. Two members of the group, Jim and Mike, were on night watch at the edge of a cliff above the pasture. At around 2.30 am, they noticed a dim light above the ground. Through powerful night vision binoculars it was possible to see something like a "tunnel" with a diameter of 1.2 meters. And in it - a black creature, similar to a person. When the "humanoid" crawled out of the glowing "tunnel", the passage to another world began to narrow and disappeared.
Although the researchers had equipment to measure radiation levels and magnetic fields, it showed nothing unusual. They photographed the incident, but the pictures were disappointing: one of the frames captured a very dim, blurry light, and the rest of the film was absolutely nothing.
Then the scientists installed three pillars with video cameras on the pasture. At exactly 8.30 am, three cameras on the westernmost pillar stopped working. When the observers approached, they saw that the wires had been torn from the cells, and a piece of cable 30 cm long had disappeared. The scientists returned to the command post, hoping they could see the intruder on the footage of the cameras located on the second pillar. But nothing was recorded on the tape!
On several occasions, some kind of invisible force moved around the ranch and among the animals. One scientist reported a path of agitated water in a canal, as if a large invisible animal was running quickly through the water. Splashes were distinctly heard and a pungent stench was felt, but nothing was visible. A farmer neighbor reported the same phenomenon two months later.
It is now clear that research has reached a dead end. One scientist said: “We cannot just say that aliens or extraterrestrial civilizations are doing all this. It is a kind of mind, constantly new, which is somewhat different from its former self, something that does not repeat itself. It reacts to people and equipment. We thought the ranch would be a testing ground for the scientific method, but science doesn't seem to be able to solve this kind of problem.”
Research has been temporarily suspended since this year. Now only Bigelow's hired security dares to approach the gate with the sign "Stay Away." But the orange light rising above the hills shows that the gates to other worlds continue to open, releasing unknown creatures into our world … True, the rancher does not intend to retreat - he is drawing up new projects of attack on an alien world …
