Throughout Russia you can find a huge number of stone boulders, the so-called "investigators", which depict animals, drawings, sometimes not very clear content, and most of them are prints of human hands and feet. Until now, scientists have not been able to answer the seemingly elementary question: why did our ancestors "inherit" so much throughout the Earth?
In Russia, interest in "investigators" began to manifest itself in the 19th century, when archeology and local history were on the rise in our empire. Even the famous N. M. Karamzin in his "History of the Russian State" considered it necessary to mention such stones: "Large smooth, finished slabs, on which are carved images of hands, heels, hooves, etc., remained a monument of the stone-cutting art of the ancient Slavs.
Local residents called the footprints on the stones either "devil's footprints", now "God's feet", "Christ's footprints", "Theotokos' feet." If the former were notorious, the latter were held in high esteem. It was believed that water from "God's footprints" is healing, helps to cure diseases.
Gdovskiy district. e. Terebeni Pskov region is an ancient land, and there are at least several hundred similar boulders (according to the most conservative estimates). Unfortunately, the well-known "Holguin stone" in Vybuty has not survived, on which a trace of a graceful female leg was visible. It was blown up in the 30s of the last century.
They say that on this stone Olga arranged meetings with ordinary people. Now a kind of pyramid of boulders, crowned with a forged cross, has been built on its remains.
In the Pechora region, on the edge of a collective farm field, a huge stone lay just recently. It showed the trace of a child's foot framed by three suns. In the old days, sick children were brought to this stone: it was believed that if a child washes three times with morning dew from this stone, then all diseases would recede from him.
They found it somewhere in the 70s right in the middle of a field in blooming rye. All residents were firmly convinced that even in the spring, when the field was sown, there was no stone there. After the harvest, he was dragged by a tractor closer to the forest. But the next spring, he again found himself in his old place in the middle of the field. It was then that the local grandmothers decided that this stone was not simple. And they learned about its healing properties by accident. One of the boys on the field seriously injured his leg. The friends put the boy on a stone, tied his leg with a shirt and ran to the village for the paramedic. Until he arrived in time, it took about half an hour. What was the general surprise when, instead of a wound, only a well-healed scar was found on the boy's leg. Since then, sick people from all over the area have been brought and brought to the stone. But a few years later, the boulder disappeared as mysteriously as it appeared.

Another case, almost fantastic, in the Ostrovsky district. They said that in one of the villages in the 50s there lived a mentally ill guy - a holy fool, in the old way. He was a believer, in the church he served all the time around the house, he almost lived there. And he was often seen near a large boulder that lay on the banks of the Great. Some incomprehensible signs and an imprint of a person's right hand were carved on the stone. And then one day the local boys secretly followed the guy and began to follow. This village idiot again led them to the river, where he sat for a long time near a stone and talked to him about something. And then suddenly he got up, put both hands on the stone and … lightly, like a feather, lifted this heavy boulder into the air, which probably weighed more than one hundred kilograms. Hanging in the air for several seconds, the stone also very smoothly sank to its original place.
Inquisitive people from Pskov can admire the "investigators" without leaving their hometown. For example, if you walk along the Heroes Alley near the Green Theater, you can easily find a huge stone with cult signs. In the field near the radio factory, there are several interesting cup stones with round holes 10 cm deep.
One of the most interesting stones is located on the banks of the Pskov River, in Zapskovye, opposite the Finnish Park.
