A small device called the "ion pump" by the developers is a device made of biocompatible organic materials and working on the basis of chemical signals. The pump is implanted into the patient's body and stops the signals of pain at that moment, until they reach the brain.
Scientists claim that the principle of operation of the device is similar to a pacemaker, with the difference that the pacemaker uses electrical signals, but here - chemical signals.
It is known that the device has already passed a rodent test, showing an effect that amazed even scientists. Not only was the "ion pump" invisible to the body, did not impede normal movements, it completely turned off pain sensitivity in the desired areas of the body. At the same time, a very important point was the complete absence of side effects.
Experts are sure that 5-10 years will not pass before this device will be widely used. It will be especially indispensable for people suffering from chronic pain.
