How often we look and don't see. We pass by from year to year, not noticing the obvious things before our eyes, under our feet. Just a few years ago, no one stuttered about the flood, did not see the amazing absurdity of the version of the "cultural layer" in the ubiquitous first floors of buildings. No one had ever heard of Tartary, no one assumed that the Tatar-Mongol yoke was a myth from beginning to end. And as Yevgeny Yuryevich Spitsyn put it, the very concept of "Tatar-Mongols" has nothing to do with ethnic groups, but only an unsuccessful semantic construction, accepted by historians in the same way as Kievan Rus, convenient, they say, for work … Like, apparently, Indo-European languages. Nice, such a construction that ignores thousands of kilometers of land and thousands of years of history of those who lived between these "India" and "Europe". And history, and a rich history, is, was,and nowhere to hide from it, not under any "semantic constructions." One must not only look, but also see.

This article is just a small addition to the previous one - On the search for truth and key images. Do not look for sensations here, but there is something to think about.

As you understand and feel, the images, clothes are not taken from the ceiling.

It never occurred to you why women's outfits are so rich and varied, and from men's, well, perhaps, a shirt-shirt comes to mind. Cap there, sheepskin coat and felt boots.

It's kind of strange, isn't it?

Now, attention, once again:

Pierre-Nolasque Bergeret. * Alexander I introduces Napoleon to the Kalmyk and Bashkir Cossacks of his army on July 3, 1807 *

This picture of Bergeret is not much, not a little - the meeting of two eras, two planets, two galaxies. (Picture from this article)

But who is this? Alexander I introduces Napoleon to the Kalmyk and Bashkir Cossacks of his army on July 3, 1807? This is that knight in armor with a metal bird on his helmet - a Bashkir, a Kalmyk? And there, in the depths, a man in a European-looking crown?

"What is this rabble?" - you ask. Maybe this is not a regular army, but which one? And what is their banner? Even here there is no question that they are on an equal footing with Napoleon and Alexander - in headdresses, this is not about that, this is understandable and so.

What are these "according to the official" version of the Cossacks, if Peter the Great long before that, "according to the official version," introduced uniforms in the army in the European manner, every little thing was thought out and written down in the regulations. Who is not familiar with this?

For example, the 1706 charter prohibited soldiers from even shouting during battle. The first paragraph of this document read: “So that everyone, especially the officers, should see that there is no cry during the battle, and if a cry occurs in which company, or regiment, then the officers will be hanged without any mercy from those companies. And the officers are given such power, if a soldier or a dragoon cries out, they immediately stab to death. " This is a word about "Hurray!" and introduced instead of "Vivat!"

People in the army were hanged for the slightest offense. What are the Cossacks in trousers with bows?

Why is there in the army!

In 1698, Peter issued a decree to change the national dress to European. The forcible imposition of Western culture took on forms unprecedented in the history of mankind - special military services cut beards and long hemlines of clothes right on the streets. The people began to actively resist. And so that the people could not resist, Peter issued a decree prohibiting the wearing of pointed knives. In 1700, Peter repeated the decree - all residents of Moscow were ordered to change all their clothes for European ones within two days, and merchants were promised hard labor, lashing with a whip and confiscation of property for trading in Russian clothes.

What about beards? Who has not heard of this?

Special armed groups - guardians of Western fashion grabbed passers-by, knelt down and cut off the hem of their clothes at ground level. The requirement for men's clothing - to narrow the waist, was perceived by Russian men and boyars as something very shameful. The beards were shaved by force and in the most cruel way. It was possible to buy off shaving - merchants paid 100 rubles for the right to wear a beard, boyars - 60, other townspeople - 30. That was a lot of money at that time. An exception was made for priests - they were allowed to wear beards.

In Astrakhan, Peter's subordinates ordered the soldiers to pull out their beards by the roots, which was the reason for the uprising of the Astrakhan people in 1705. In a petition to the king, they complained:

And then there were Catherine, Alexandra, Pavel … oh, those are also "ardent supporters" of the Russian tradition.

You understand that documentary evidence of the simultaneous coexistence of this one has been completely destroyed:

And this one?

No, these are not dark ages and dense Russia enlightened by Europe, it all took place to be in the same space and time, it turns out!

We completely admit that women's costumes in the villages, all these kokoshniks could have been under Napoleon and under Peter and survived until the 19th and 20th centuries.

But we left the peasant in our minds only a shirt and sandals! An illiterate, wild peasant man in a cap and blouse.

Which army? Who knows? - they, they say, are all in cylinders with feathers! And pince-nez! Yes, my God, when will we wake up?

Do you understand that "the fairy-tale world of Russian costume" is horror, not a name?

A fairy tale is not a lie, but a hint in it. A fairy tale - in Russian, is a STORY of what was in reality, not fiction. Yes, remember or re-read Gogol's Dead Souls at least. There Chichikov submits a "Riviz tale" - a document, a list of peasants.

And the costume is from the French "costume"! What does our dear, dear, long-suffering, tortured, age-old CLOTHES have to do with it?

Search the internet for the meaning of this word. You will be unpleasantly surprised. Are you, the reader, Russian yourself? If so, then you are ashamed to explain.

ABOUT DE I NIER - yes, what can I say, these are images, they must be felt. For a foreign reader, I will only say about the top of the meanings - About me, about what I do, about my essence and purpose and belonging to which genus - that's just a superficial, fluent translation! What ko-ko-ko stum?

Returning to Bergeret's painting: is there really no relationship in clothing? Put those young ladies from the calendar next to these guys on the left, and everything will be as in its place.

Shirt-blouse, you say? Peter the First? It is impossible to draw such conclusions on the basis of one controversial picture, to cross out the entire history of Russia and the darkness of documentary facts?

And who meets them there? Kalmyks or Bashkir Cossacks?

I express my deep gratitude to Sergei Ignatenko, who introduced me to the materials used in this article. I did not want to repeat myself, but only to emphasize, on the basis of Russian traditional dress, the possible correctness of his version.
