60 more exoplanets confirmed

A group of British scientists (University of Hertfordshire), led by Dr. Miko Tuomi (Dr Mikko Tuomi), prepared a publication in The Astrophysical Journal, in which they reported on 60 planets outside the solar system in addition to those already discovered. There is no doubt about their existence now. The preliminary data was confirmed. Information about 50 more exoplanets needs additional verification.

The planets were identified after analyzing the results of observations accumulated over 20 years of operation of the Keck Observatory in Hawaii (Keck-I telescope in Hawaii.)

“It seems that all the stars closest to us have planets,” says Miko Tuomi.

Scientists have no doubt that among the "new portion" of the discovered planets there are also Earth twins. But which ones are claiming this title have not yet been reported.

The Keck Observatory is located at an altitude of over 4 thousand meters above sea level on the peak of the Mauna Kea mountain. It includes two mirror telescopes that allow observations in the optical and infrared ranges. They are among the largest in the world.
