"Turukhtanskoye spot" - this name received a strange anomalous phenomenon, according to eyewitnesses, which took place on the Turukhtanny Islands in the Kirovsky district of the city of Leningrad (St. Petersburg).
Here is how the researcher of anomalous phenomena Alexander Chirtsov describes these events (in the literary retelling of S. Pervushin):
“On October 16 (Sunday) 1988, having escorted a friend to the boat, my wife and I went home. From the port we walked along the street, lit by lanterns, without haste. There was enough light.
Passing the fence of the packaging factory, I suddenly felt pressure in the back of my head (as if a heavy, oppressive look). The strength of his action seemed to me constant, but there was no feeling of physical pressure. Asked his wife if she felt anything. She replied, "No."
The twilight was already thickening. As I continued walking, I turned my head to the left and stumbled upon a shadow in the form of a dark spot flattened on the asphalt. This caused surprise, since there was no object between the lantern and the spot. It could not be our shadow either. The spot had clear contours and was almost black (even blackness over the entire surface).
I mentally compared the spot to a ramp, but immediately dismissed the comparison as absurd. After walking a few meters, I noticed that the slick was moving without changing shape, synchronously with me, as if sliding along the surface of the asphalt, near the left side of the carriageway and somewhat behind.
Then I turned to the spot completely and wanted to show it to my wife, but at the same second I saw a strong, but not blinding light in the form of a very short flash. It felt like I was blinded by the headlights of a car. During the outbreak, I felt a weak push in the chest area, but the body did not sway from this, I stood normally on my feet.
In the next instant, against the background of the flash, I saw this spot, which, as it seemed to me, was flying right at me, advancing like a wave. I felt that I could neither inhale nor exhale. The face seemed to burn, and as if the blood boiled in small bubbles.

At this time, I heard a very short strange sound. It was loud enough and consisted, as it were, of two different sounds, following one after the other. First - like sucking air into a vacuum, then - like a slap of a rubber mat (or heating pad) that fell from a small height to the floor.
I stopped. There were no circles in the eyes, as happens with a direct impact of a light beam. The spot was no more than a meter away from my feet. When looking at it, a feeling of some massiveness was created, apparently due to the nature of the sound (a slap on the asphalt).
I also unconsciously had the feeling that this spot is a living being, it has a mind and has nothing against us, and that it asks me for forgiveness for something.
I did not feel fear and for ten seconds I watched the spot, standing motionless. Then he took a step forward and tried to touch him with a finger. The shadow glided smoothly over the asphalt for about 30 centimeters. I tried again.
Then the slick smoothly and noiselessly slid along the road in the opposite direction for 8-10 meters and, turning sharply at a right angle, disappeared into the bushes. At the same time, a rustle passed through the bushes. The spot did not change its shape and remained the same flat.
After that we continued our journey, got on tram line 35, but for a long time were under the impression of what had happened. I could not get rid of the feeling of someone else's gaze until I was transferred from the tram to the metro at the Electrosila station. Here all the sensations are gone.
Returning home, we soon went to bed. In the morning I went to work, as always. I have never seen anything like it. For 3-4 days I had headaches (in the occipital region). The pain began in the evening, at seven o'clock, and at night it completely disappeared …"
On December 5 of the same year, Chirtsov and his wife additionally reported that they had a feeling of anxiety for a week and it was impossible for them to force themselves to go to the scene again (which was discussed by the spouses several times).
In addition, the wife said that on the morning of November 17, 1988, after her husband left for work, she saw “a shadow of indeterminate shape crawled out from behind a cabinet located next to the window”. The shadow quickly disappeared after the scared cry of his wife.
The information told by an eyewitness was recorded on November 24, 1988 by Leningrad researchers E. Galevsky and N. Shadrin. They also visited the place of the event and assessed the situation, including checking the "energy background in place" with the help of bio-frames.
No energy anomalies have been identified, they said. Repeated control-combing (twice in the evening) also had no effect. Based on the opinion that no anomalies were found at the site, Baturin and Psalmists hypothesized that the described phenomenon was of a psychological nature.
