NASA employees have created a microcircuit capable of operating on Venus for 21 days at a temperature of 500 degrees Celsius.

According to the creators, their invention is the key to organized missions on Venus. Surprisingly, before that, scientists have not been able to develop a microsystem that can operate at extremely high temperatures, and even for several weeks. To combat the main problems - a harsh chemical environment and high temperatures, the scientists resorted to the usual silicon base for the chip, and used silicon carbide and tantalum silicide.

The system processor managed to endure three weeks of testing in specially created conditions, such as on Venus: a temperature of about five hundred degrees Celsius, a pressure of about 95 kg / sq. S. In such conditions, the processor's continuous operation lasted for 521 hours.

Recall that since the sixties of the last century, 27 aircraft were sent to the second planet of the solar system within the framework of the Venus program, of which 19 were domestic and 6 were American. The last launch of a domestic spacecraft to Venus took place back in 1985 as part of the Vega space program, aimed at studying the planet.
