The central streets of Suzdal were agitated by the terrible news: some animal strangled more than 40 chickens. The locals assume that it was a lynx.
-In the evening I closed the chicken coop, slept peacefully at night - no suspicious noises, sounds. And in the morning I came to the pen, where my chickens used to walk and saw that all 15 layers were dead, and the rooster was barely alive. Later he died, - told the reporter Nina Viktorovna, the owner of one of the "plundered" chicken coops. - It was terrible: someone strangled the chickens, tore out some of their feathers and seemed to trample them into the ground, it was even difficult to take them out of the "pits". It all happened in the middle of the night: by morning the chickens were already numb.
In the gardens of residents of Yarunova Gora, Lebedeva, Varganova and Kremlevskaya streets, traces of an unknown predator remained - larger than those of a cat, a step wider, and, judging by the depth, the animal was larger. Nina Viktorovna is most shocked by the fact that the beast was able to break the metal grate to get into the chicken coop.
-Neither a fox nor a cat has such power. I have been breeding chickens for thirty years and this has never happened before. I have 15 chickens strangled by a beast, a neighbor's - 8, on another street - two or three, plus 17 more chickens across the river, like, on Kremlin Street, - sums up the "hunt" of the unknown beast Nina Viktorovna.
Now the residents of Suzdal are afraid to leave their children alone and try not to go outside at night.
-My cat left footprints next to these strange prints. I compared and understood: the animal is at least 2.5 times larger and clearly heavier. But what is even worse: he is clearly strong - he tore several metal nets to get to the chickens. Oleg Kudryavtsev, who lives on Yarunov Gora Street, called the police. They suggested that it was a lynx, - says Irina Barygina, showing the tracks that the predator left on her beds. - The beast did not eat chickens - it just strangled. Either he is mad and therefore not afraid of people and refuses to eat, or the lynx was brought by tourists from Moscow, released for a “walk”, or simply got rid of the annoying exotic pet.

We talked with local hunters, showed them the footprints left by the alleged predator and asked if it could be dangerous to people.
-The tracks really look like lynxes. She will most likely not attack a person - this is still not a tiger, the animal is not so large. This situation is dangerous because the lynx can be frenzied. And if she bites someone, you urgently need to go to the doctor. A wild beast will not come to housing and people - he is afraid of a person. It means that there is a great chance that indeed someone has released an exotic toy, - said the hunter. - Lynxes are found in the forests of the Vladimir region, but quite rarely. The appearance of a predator in the city is nonsense.
