When people see the phrase "Red Planet", they immediately think of Mars - and indeed, the fourth planet in the solar system, as everyone knows, is red. However, in fact, Mars is not red, but, suddenly, blue - scientists say.
This statement so shocking to the general public is, of course, supported by weighty arguments. Planetary scientists, according to the information resource ToDay News Ufa, approached the preparation of these very arguments very thoroughly.
“It all started with the fact that we noticed the rather strange blue spots that now and then slip in the photographs from Mars. For example, they can be seen in the images of the Labyrinth of Night, which were recently transmitted to Earth by the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter probe,”the scientists say intriguingly.
Who thought for a long time - what, in fact, is the nature of these blue spots. As a result, it turned out that these are fresh chips formed on the Martian rock.
In general, the rocks that make up Mars are blue. But at the same time, Mars is densely covered with a layer of red dust, which makes it, accordingly, red. In general, if you somehow remove its "camouflage" from Mars, then it will turn out to be blue.
