Michel de Nostradamus, better known as "Nostradamus", is perhaps the most famous prophet the world has ever seen.

But besides being a seer, he was also an astrologer, writer and physician!

His most famous and popular work is Les Prophéties, a collection of 942 poetic quatrains said to predict numerous future events.

The first collection of prophecies appeared in 1555 as a collection of verses-quatrains, which the French seer combined in ten sets of poems ("Ages"), 100 quatrains each.

The predictions written by Nostradamus do not appear to follow chronological sequence and were written in a mixture of French, Greek, Latin and Occitan.

It is believed that his predictions contained anagrams, mythological and astrological references, written in a subjective language that makes him very difficult to understand.

Scholars who have studied his work claim that Nostradamus did this on purpose to evade the Holy Inquisition, fearing persecution for heresy due to his ability to foresee the future.

In other words, he made his work extremely difficult to understand, and those who can decipher it will find it difficult to understand its true meaning.

Nostradamus and his journey into the occult

Despite being a Catholic, after several visits to Italy, the French prophet retired from medicine and immersed himself in the occult. In 1550, he wrote an almanac where we first saw his Latinized name - Nostradamus.

It is worth noting that the first almanac of Nostradamus was very successful. After that, he decides to write one or more almanacs every year.

Summa Summarum, almanacs, are believed to have contained almost 6400 different prophecies written by Nostradamus.

His predictions

While many people are skeptical about his work and his supposed predictions of the future, millions of people around the world are convinced that the French prophet had a mystical ability to foresee the future.

It has been argued that Nostradamus accurately predicted the Great Fire of London, the French Revolution, and the uprisings of Napoleon, Adolf Hitler and Donald Trump. It is believed that Nostradamus predicted both world wars and the nuclear destruction of Hiroshima and Nagasaki …

Skeptical point of view

Numerous skeptics and scholars have suggested that Nostradamus's reputation as a prophet is largely created by contemporary adherents who distort and attribute what Nostradamus wrote to events that have already occurred or are so inevitable that they are inevitably called "postdiction." …

In fact, as noted by Peter Lemesurier in his book Nostradamus, Bibliomancer: Man, Myth, Truth, none of the quatrains written by Nostradamus are known to have been interpreted as predicting a specific event before it happened, except in vague or general terms that could be applied to any number of different events.

Skeptics argue that Nostradamus's most famous work, The Prophecies, is nothing more than an anthology of famous prophecies that have arisen in the past, which have been adopted to fit present and expected circumstances in the wake of famous historical events that have been projected into the future.

One such example is the Notredame fire …

Output

Whether Nostradamus really managed to foresee the future depends on a personal point of view.

Many scholars and skeptics believe that most of the quotes we see on the Internet and in prophetic books are quotes that have been reinterpreted and adjusted accordingly in our time in retrospect to fit a historical event.

However, millions of people around the world claim that the Qatrans that Nostradamus wrote hundreds of years ago are a crystal clear prediction of the future, pointing to the above predictions as evidence of its success.
