Developed countries are gradually facing a rather serious problem in full growth - we are talking about the rapid aging of the population, which makes politicians nervous.
Why is it so important, strictly speaking? The fact is that population growth supports the demand for housing, as well as ensures the execution of manual work and the receipt of contributions to pension systems that are experiencing certain difficulties due to demographic factors and slowing economies.
As noted by the Secretary General of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, Angel Gurria, the problem of an aging population and a shrinking workforce is common in most of the world, but for the G20 this issue is especially acute.
However, even among developed countries, the picture is far from uniform. For example, for some states, the negative consequences of such trends are somewhat mitigated by migration, as in the case of the United States. Other countries - like China and Japan - are in a more difficult situation, which affects the forecasts of economic growth.
In general, what is happening can be explained by the fact that as the well-being in society grows and women receive more and more rights, they are more actively involved in working relationships and get more opportunities to use contraceptives.
The population of Europe and East Asia is projected to decline by 2050, while the population of the Western Hemisphere and Africa will grow.
According to today's assessments, the main burden of environmental problems will fall on developing countries, which may, among other things, cause political instability, pushing an increasing number of residents to move to developed countries. As has been seen in the example of Europe and the United States in recent years, this may lead to some confusion.
In general, the essence of the problem is that there are many workers in the world capable of performing the required tasks, but often they are in the wrong countries where they are needed at a given time. The resolution of this contradiction will become the main business of politicians in the coming decades.
