The abandoned quarry for the extraction of talc magnesite in the Shabrovsky urban settlement may seem like an unremarkable place. There are a lot of them all over the country. However, some experts believe that this is not a quarry, but something else.
It is no secret that there are hundreds of dilapidated megalithic structures in the Urals. Several pyramids were found among them. The Urals are generally full of mysteries and secrets that are beyond the control of people.

Waterfalls quickly flooded the quarry. The management of the Old Lens initially intended to fix the equipment, but then came to the conclusion that this was not practical. But then why was the water pumped out from 1974 to 2016? Perhaps the quarry was flooded due to the widespread publicity.
Why does a quarry look so freaky
The official theory is that talc is used in the form of bricks. However, it is known to have been mined in powder form. And only then they made bricks. There is a version that a certain engineer Stolyarov came up with a technology thanks to which blocks could be cut right in the quarry. Hence its bizarre shape.
For some unknown reason, there is no clear photo evidence of a career in the Soviet years.
But the technique that stood for many years in his career clearly could not cope with such a task.
An interesting fact is that there are no normal photographs of the quarry of the Soviet period. And this is very strange, because at that time there were already high-quality cameras that gave excellent pictures. The found photos resemble muddy drawings in which nothing can be discerned.
Alternative theory of researchers
There is a theory that this object is not a quarry and never was. Oh, there are a lot of oddities and inconsistencies in it. The researchers suggest that the building was not erected in our time.
Perhaps, in Soviet times, some excavations were carried out here, and even something was lifted upward with the help of mechanisms. Water was pumped out for many decades even after the collapse of the USSR. Apparently, this was a very important place, since we went to such costs. Pumping water cost a lot of money.
As for the equipment at the bottom of the Old Lens, it could have been lowered there for research. And then they left it there as unnecessary.
Old Lens may well be one of the mysterious objects of the Urals from the past.
In Siberia, there are many interesting and mysterious objects, the existence of which is difficult to explain. So why can't Old Lens be one of them? Some experts believe that the quarry is a rooted pyramid. However, a top view of this place proves the opposite.
Perhaps the Old Lens is an ancient high-tech object, the true purpose of which we will never know. And it was flooded only because information about a strange place was widely publicized.
