The village of Druzhniy, located very close to Nizhny Novgorod, at first glance looks exactly like millions of other similar settlements. But if you take a closer look at the residents, it becomes clear: something mysterious is happening here. Namely: the number of twins on the streets of Druzhny exceeds all conceivable norms
One has only to go to the local kindergarten while walking. There are two identical girls sitting on the swing. And they are rolled out … by absolutely identical boys. Educators say the twins go to their little daycare every year. Yes, not one pair at a time.
- This fall we are recruiting a new group of 25 people, it will have three pairs of twins at once, - says and. about. the head of the kindergarten Lyubov Nikolaevna. - And there should have been even more: there were a couple of twins next in line for this group, but at the last moment their family moved to Nizhny Novgorod.

By the way, the teacher of this group - Svetlana Vladimirovna Konstantinova - also has a twin sister, so there is no doubt that they will find a common language. In addition, she is far from the only employee of the institution who grew up as a pair.
This dominance of twins is typical not only for the local kindergarten. Twins of different ages live in almost every house in the village of Druzhny. And the houses here are small - there are no buildings higher than five floors.
However, the residents of the village themselves do not see anything surprising in this: it has always been like this here. Many parents of kindergarten twins also had twins in their family. So the birth of two children at once does not surprise anyone here:

The teachers in Druzhny's kindergarten are already so used to the twins that they don't see the problem of how to learn to distinguish between the next couple.
- In the early days, finding out who is who, of course, is difficult. But we get out, we recognize by clothes, - says Lyubov Nikolaevna. - For example, we had a couple of twin girls, so at first we were guided by the sandals: one had pink, the other had purple. And after a while, even very similar children begin to seem different, and it is no longer difficult to determine who is who.
Here the teacher deftly catches the black-haired boy passing by and comments:
- This is our Marat. It seems to be the same face with her brother, - the woman nods at an exact copy of the baby, - but their look is completely different. This one looks so mischievously, cheerfully, and that one - seriously, thoughtfully.
What is the reason that so many twins are born in the village, the locals do not know. They can only make assumptions:
“Our ecology is good here,” says Lyubov Nikolaevna. - Look: even a kindergarten is practically in a pine grove.
Indeed, it is very easy to breathe in the village. However, not all so simple. Other old-timers blame the military unit located in the village. Several towers have been installed there for a purpose incomprehensible to the civilian population.
- It is from them that radiation comes, which, perhaps, affects the birth rate! - say the teachers. - Nobody seriously studied this issue!
This phenomenon cannot be attributed to genetics either. Not only locals give birth to twins here. Those who came from distant lands, settling in the village, after a while, too, can acquire a couple of indistinguishable children.
