Humanity has long been striving into space for new knowledge and discoveries. But we haven't even really studied our own planet.

Our world is still a real mystery. We do not even have a clue about how exactly they appeared and for what purpose. All the official theories accepted by the scientific community may well turn out to be fiction. The same goes for the mysterious drawings in the Nazca Desert, depicting various animals and birds, as well as a strange person, more like a modern astronaut. What is the reason for their appearance on the Peruvian sand - no one knows. Scientists make many assumptions about the purpose of the drawings. According to one theory, these geoglyphs represent a kind of appeal to the Gods from the local residents. On the other hand, they can have astronomical significance. According to ufologists, the mysterious drawings may be intended for the orientation and landing of alien ships. Even though everyone forgetsthat if aliens did exist, they would hardly need any images in the sand in order to land.

A researcher from Germany named Maria Reiche was engaged in serious research of drawings. In 1947, she used the services of pilots and took several photographs of geoglyphs. Reiche claims that the creators of these images started out with only small sketches.

The general Nazca complex was not covered immediately, but gradually. That is, the locals applied their drawings for decades. Researchers have found similarity of coordinate points, which are ancient wooden piles. In the opinion of Maria Reiche's colleagues, they perfectly helped local artists navigate the desert while drawing geoglyphs. The creation of the drawings is attributed to the most ancient civilization of Nazca, which probably existed in these lands before the Inca Empire. It disappeared long ago, leaving behind only a few mysterious structures, including the aforementioned geoglyphs. The Inca civilization, according to scientists, was much different from the Nazca.

These peoples were, although related, but differed in terms of beliefs and many cultural elements. Perhaps we would have learned much more if the professors of the Peruvian Institute of Cultural Studies continued to work on the study of ancient artifacts. But the institute does not have the financial resources to carry out this operation, due to the constant economic problems in the country.

Mysterious drawings still remain a mystery to all mankind, like many other artifacts of South America. Ufologists fiercely defend their hypothesis about the contacts of ancient people with aliens. However, many are already inclined to believe that geoglyphs do not at all represent landmarks for ships. Most likely, these may be some messages addressed to more highly developed interstellar civilizations. In addition, there is a possibility that there is no question of any aliens here. Long before our era, highly developed human cultures, such as Atlantis or Lemuria, could well have existed. No one has yet any evidence of their exact existence on our planet. They are mentioned only in mythology and legends, as well as in esoteric treatises. Academic communities, as a rule, do not engage in the study of such issues. Yet this does not mean that the legendary pre-civilizations of people did not actually exist. It is possible that the mysterious drawings in the Nazca desert were intended just for human pilots who flew ancient air ships.
