In India, the northernmost part of it, right at the foot of the Himalayas, there is a mountain gorge that frightens the locals. People stopped going there, and visitors are not told the exact location of the mysterious gorge. There is even an official ban from the state authorities - to keep the coordinates of this gorge secret. A moratorium has been imposed on any expeditions to that area. The reason for this is many inexplicable human deaths.

The history of the Valley of Seven Deaths began in the spring of 1856, when a local hunter accidentally wandered here. He fell under a strong storm and was forced to look for a place of shelter from the raging elements. What was his surprise when in one of the caves, where he was going to wait out the bad weather, there was a skeleton of a man in military uniform. In the bag that lay next to the skeleton, the hunter found a notebook with notes. But since he himself did not know how to read, he decided to show his find to someone literate and took it with him. However, at home he completely forgot about the notebook, which had been lying for almost 50 years.

Until I fell into the hands of another explorer of India, and part-time - a treasure hunter. He realized that he had a diary of an English captain, who learned from the locals about the treasures hidden in the valley and decided to find them.

The legend was as follows. In the place where the infamous Valley of the Seven Deaths is now located, once upon a time the capital of the possessions of the rich and invincible rajah was located. He was so powerful that he easily conquered more and more new lands. He had seven sons, who were very proud of the success of their father and challenged the supreme god Shiva. For this, God first destroyed the seven daring brothers and their troops with a fiery arrow, and then the rest of the city. The luxurious capital went deep under the water, and in its place there was only a deep-water lake. This is where the treasures are kept.

The British captain searched for at least some trace of the once rich city for a long time and to no avail. And by some miracle, he did find a mountain gorge, behind which stretched a valley and a lake. On the other side of the reservoir, the captain noticed some ancient ruins. It was decided to stay in the valley for the night, and in the morning to build a raft and cross the lake on it. When the captain woke up in the morning, he found complete loneliness - all his soldiers disappeared somewhere, although their things remained on the shore. There was a feeling that they left to swim and did not return.

The captain approached the water and with horror saw in the depths the reflection of a terrible devilish face, which, hypnotizing, called to itself. With an effort of will, the captain averted his gaze from the lake and started to run. But on the way, he felt bad: his body literally burned down due to the high temperature. Having reached the cave, the man died there.

A desperate treasure hunter who read the Englishman's diary, gathered an expedition and set off in his footsteps. This happened in 1902. But after some time, in a local village, a strange man was found in torn clothes, numerous burns all over his body and with crazy eyes. This unfortunate person turned out to be the same rajah's treasure hunter. He was taken to a hospital where he died within a few days.

Then the government intervened. It sent a scientific expedition, which was to find out all the details of the disaster that happened in the valley. It turned out that a huge number of poisonous snakes are found in those parts. But those who were fortunate enough to return told about a strange wandering fire that scorched their comrades. This expedition was followed by another one. But they almost all died: the survivors recalled that when they went down to the lake, people began to circle and fell to the ground dead.

In 1919, a final attempt was made to explore the gruesome valley. The group included mountaineers wearing gas masks. So they managed to get to the opposite shore of the lake, where the ancient ruins were. But as soon as people without gas masks were on the top of the cliff, they first jumped for joy, and then they all simultaneously jumped into the lake.

After that, the Indian authorities imposed a ban on visiting the valley of seven deaths. Scientists believe that the lake emits a nerve gas that is flammable. But there is also a hypothesis that 25,000 years ago a war of ancient civilizations took place on this place, as a result of which a powerful nuclear explosion occurred.
