The Moleb anomalous zone (also called the Moleb Triangle and the Perm Triangle) is a small area of approximately 70 square meters. km., located on the left bank of the Sylva river between the villages of Molebka and Kamenka on the border of the Sverdlovsk region and the Perm region. Over the past 20 years, ufologists have argued that paranormal phenomena regularly occur in this area. Discovery history
In 1989, a number of articles appeared in the Soviet press, after which the public first started talking about the Moleb Triangle. For example, the Riga newspaper "Soviet Youth" published the material "M's Triangle, or Strangers Don't Walk Here" authored by Pavel Mukhortov. “In general, what is to be read to you cannot be called anything else, only fantasy. You can treat these notes like that. But all this happened, and happened before my eyes and with me. I confirm: it was! And 40 more people will confirm this,”the author convinced the readers. Also in the preface, Paul advised scientists to go to this anomalous zone as soon as possible in order to see with their own eyes the veracity of his story.
According to Mukhortov, rumors of strange phenomena have been circulating among the villagers for several decades. Of course, it is possible that the locals simply wanted to draw the attention of urbanites to their small village. However, the researchers found it strange that the stories of people coincide not only in the general description, but also in the more detailed one. For example, one old woman recalled: "I saw strange people without faces, of huge stature, in a tight black dress." After some time, two men, not knowing anything about the stories of their grandmother, described exactly the same creature they saw during the mowing.
Exploration of the anomalous zone is said to have begun long before Paul's arrival. A certain Emil Bachurin, the founder of the Perm group for the study of anomalous phenomena, drew attention to this place after the builders, who took up the construction of hangars for household needs, fled the village without even receiving a payment.
In his material, Mukhortov told a lot of what he had seen in the Moleb Triangle, and his article became almost a reference book for numerous ufologists and curious tourists.

However, it was not only the publication “M's Triangle, or Aliens Don't Walk Here” that became the reason for the incredible popularity that the Perm anomalous zone received. In mid-October 1989, the article “Stalkers” appeared in Komsomolskaya Pravda.
“It turns out that the power of power has its own rounded contour, which is pulled together around our camp by an energy loop. It was as if someone began to pull a hard, oversized, narrow hat over my head. Volodymyr Shemshuk and Vladislav Trembling felt the pressure build-up. The feeling was that over the tents, like over a brood of multi-colored russula, thinking creatures, invisible, but influencing, were leaning with greedy curiosity,”- the author of the article, amazed by what had happened, recounted. He, as it turned out, was well acquainted with Mukhortov and even mentioned him in his article.
By that time, hundreds of thousands of people who had read the Strugatsky brothers' story "Roadside Picnic" were extremely interested, because the Perm anomalous zone seemed to be a real opportunity to feel like a stalker.
Observed phenomena
As various researchers-ufologists note, a number of paranormal phenomena can be observed in the Moleb Triangle, explanations for which are rather difficult to find. For example, one of the eyewitnesses said that he once discovered traces of a huge unidentified flying object left on the ground. But the author of the sensational article "Stalker" collided with a UFO when he was near Pavel Mukhortov. “I raised my head - in the distance, against the background of the not yet extinguished sky, a dark object, resembling a man's hat in shape, looms clearly. The various phenomena taking place in the Moleb Triangle frightened many researchers and journalists.
The behavior of the flash light, which was reflected from various objects at night, was especially frightening for everyone. “The first flash immediately gave a return flare from approximately the same point where Hippolytus's frame was spinning. A few more flashes - a series of reflective reflections. The parking lot gagged like a flock of anxious jackdaws. Photo flashes rained down from all sides, and the camp began to resemble a disco, and not a scientific expedition, an employee of Komsomolskaya Pravda told his readers.
The journalist assures that this could be explained by sensations due to the slow walking speed, but at the same time emphasizes that all the researchers felt the same way: “For example, moving away from our tent city for 200 meters, it was already difficult to determine even the direction, in which the camp was located."
Time, researchers say, also behaved rather strangely. Although, rather not time, but hours. In about a day, almost any model went ahead noticeably. “Maybe someone will think - they themselves let the time down! No, an experiment was set up here: they put several hours in a thermos and carried them to one of the most “ active ” sections of the “ zone ” (i.e., where UFOs most often appear and manifest themselves in various ways) - the effect of a failure in the course of both mechanical and electronic clocks was confirmed,”says Pavel.
Like many others who visited the Moleb Triangle, Mukhortov noted that almost all the time he felt someone's gaze on him. The anomalous zone, as the journalist assures, was "negatively disposed towards visitors." At the site of the camp, all members of the expedition felt a heaviness in the whole body and pain in the head, but most of all the researchers were frightened and interested in contact with unknown "guests".
From the outside, this area looks very picturesque.
“The phosphorescent silhouettes of human robots were walking right at us. They turned only 15 meters away, hiding in the forest. From there came the crackling of branches. Bachurin, saying that the “ guys ” were going to the camp, rushed off to the tents. We continued to observe. What I saw reminded me in some way of computer cartoons. Two-, four-meter “ guests ” were voluminous, of both sexes; women are generally taller than men. And they all walked in some lighter green-phosphorescent square, as if along a corridor. It also resembled holograms,”Pavel shared his impressions.
While some readers sincerely believed in the words of journalists and other eyewitnesses, whose testimonies were cited in the press, others were very skeptical.

“The psychological factor plays the main role in the cognition of this anomalous zone. A person wants to see what he came for. Going to the anomalous zone, he pre-programs himself that there will be aliens and flying saucers. As a physicist, I was interested in visiting this area. However, during the expedition, I never saw anything unusual,”Mikhail Gorshechnikov, Ph. D. in physics and mathematics, confidently stated in an interview. According to him, the strange photographs can easily be explained by the scattering of light from the flash on the smallest drops of dew, pollen of plants and insects.
Students and staff of Perm State University could not stand aside either. They organized their own expedition, as a result of which it became clear that the phenomena described by ufologists are partly the most common fiction. On the other hand, some of them can be explained rationally. For example, a slight increase in the background radiation is most likely associated with the presence of heavy hydrocarbons in the soil (oil was being actively extracted in neighboring areas at that time).
Many scientists are skeptical about the words of ufologists that UFOs can be easily seen near Molebka.
Soil samples taken from various places in the anomalous zone did not show the presence of any microorganisms, atypical for this area. And the "pyramids", which ufologists called the remains of unknown civilizations, turned out to be the most common heaps of slag left over from the once existing copper smelter.
According to geologists, the Moleb Triangle is an underground reef bounded by fault lines and other tectonic faults. The gases that burst to the surface of the earth from cracks can easily have a serious effect on the psyche and cause some symptoms of poisoning. Local residents could take them for "UFO influence".
Botanists also make their contribution to explaining the phenomenon of the Perm triangle, who claim that a poisonous plant grows in this area, similar in properties to Lobel's hellebore. It contains several types of different alkaloids that can have a psychoactive effect.
Scientific tourism
Even now, despite numerous arguments from scientists and experts, Russians continue to spend their money and time on trips to Molebka. If the very fact of the presence of a UFO can be questioned, then the popularity of the Perm anomalous zone is too obvious. “Everyone who comes here gets something of their own. Psychics are charged with positive energy, ufologists hunt UFOs, and ordinary citizens are just curious. Someone here is trying to get rid of ailments. Most researchers, having visited here once, come again and again. They even call it 'the call of the zone',”said Ufologist Nikolai Subbotin in an interview with one of the Russian publications.

We do not undertake to assert whether the Perm anomalous zone is really capable of healing seriously ill people, and even more so we cannot be sure that a UFO exists there. However, we sincerely hope that soon scientists will be able to put an end to the mystery of the Moleb Triangle.
