Scientists argue about whether there was a temple of the Sun there in antiquity, or whether it was a common place of sacrifices.

This megalithic complex was discovered in the village of Anastasievka by the Tuapse archeologist and local lore specialist Madin Teshev in the early 80s of the last century.

Even the scientist himself could not determine exactly what the find actually is. If this is an ancient burial, then why are the pits filled with stones instead of the remains? And if the temple complex - then where is the ritual altar and other attributes? But the most surprising thing is that the dolmen was located not on the top of the mound, but inside, under the embankment, in the hall to which an underground passage led.

Madin Teshev conditionally called the found complex the Temple of the Sun, the reason for this was the ridges of stones that form the rays of the solarium around the mound.

However, realizing that the mound with a dolmen inside is not just an archaeological find, Madin Teshev either jokingly or seriously said:

“The spirits of my people do not allow me to reveal its secrets. They guard the dolmens. I am a scientist and it is my duty to find the truth. I am Adyg, I want the whole world to know how ancient our people are, and what a great culture we have. The spirits tell me: “You can't! This is our secret, and it is not for everyone. " If I dig up and publish, they can take revenge on me …"

In 1987, the scientist died right on the excavation site from a heart attack. He was 52 years old. Everyone who knew him says that he led a healthy lifestyle.
