An empty village is located in the Sverdlovsk region. The houses have long since fallen apart and rotted. But locals and tourists bypass it. What is this place and why are people so afraid to approach it?

History

Its history begins at the end of the 16th century. Boris Godunov worked out plans for the development of the Moscow state. He understood: the road from Europe to Asia will bring benefits. Then a construction contract was signed.

Artemy Babinov founded the Babinovsky tract, and to make it convenient and safe for travelers to get there, he built settlements along the road.

This is how the village of Rastess was founded. Initially, its main inhabitants were lumberjacks. They were replaced by service people who guarded the carts and made sure that the path was in proper condition.

In 1763, interest in the road dropped and it was closed. The reason was the construction of the Siberian-Moscow tract.

But the village is not empty. In the 19th century, deposits of gold and platinum were found nearby. Thus, she served until Soviet times. But in the 1950s, Rustess was completely deserted.

Disappearing

There were no witnesses or clues left that could give an idea of what happened.

Residents of the nearby settlement, Kytlym, began to notice that they had not seen anyone from this village. Local men went there. What they saw puzzled them. Everything looked as if people just walked away for a minute: there was food on the tables, cattle were walking in the yards, the doors of houses were not locked.

During a full search, people noticed that all the graves had been dug at the local cemetery. Nobody could give an explanation for what happened.

Despite the fact that there were many valuable and useful things in the houses, no one entered the village. There was a legend about the curse that hung over Rustess. And the many anomalies taking place there only confirmed its veracity.

Adventurers who dared to walk around the village spoke of glowing lights, strange voices and wild fear.

Our days

An expedition was made, but due to the inaccessibility of the village, there were not enough materials and the study of the territory was postponed.

In 2015, a team of guys who followed the route of the Babinovskaya road said that the village of Rastess was overgrown, the houses almost disappeared, and only one of the burials remained.
