Perhaps, no other mysterious place of the Moscow region has been mentioned so much in the press as the surroundings of the Catuar station and the Nekrasovsky village in the Dmitrovsky urban district. There were so many headlines: "Wake up Catuar", "Yeti in a forest near Moscow", "Surprise in the bushes", etc. Following the old adage that there is no smoke without fire, we also decided to visit Catoire and see everything with our own eyes.
Catoire station owes its unusual name to the ancient aristocratic family Catoire de Bioncourt, known in France since the 13th century. In the Russian Empire, representatives of this family appeared at the beginning of the 19th century, fleeing the consequences of the Great French Revolution. In 1821, Jean-Baptiste Catoire de Bioncourt accepted Russian citizenship and became known as Ivan Catoire. Soon he married the daughter of a famous wine merchant and also went into trade, starting his own business, which later turned into a large family company, as they would say now. By the end of the 19th century, the Katuar family had become one of the most influential in Russia, possessed numerous real estate, large-scale industries, and also financed the construction of the Savyolovskaya and Kiev railways. One of the Catuar family estates, as well as their tile and porcelain factories, was located near the new station opened in 1901 on the Savelovskaya railway, so there was no need to think long about the name of the station. Nowadays, few people already know this story, and the name Catoire is often associated with all sorts of anomalies that were repeatedly noticed in these places already in the 20th century.
The first unusual phenomena near the village of Nekrasovsky and the Catuar station were noted in the post-war years at the height of dacha construction. No matter how many people live in the midst of soulless concrete and asphalt, but still want to land - so many city dwellers reached out to the bosom of nature, coming every summer to their little houses on six hundred square meters. They also went for mushrooms and berries, but the local forests quickly became known as prodigal - it was easy to get lost in them - neither a compass nor a map helped. At first, they did not attach much importance to this, but once a venerable professor, who came to his friends' dacha, went “to walk along the edge of the forest for an hour, looking for mushrooms”. When he, in tattered clothes, soaked and extremely tired, was found two days later at the other end of the forest, the professor persistently repeated about some humanoids,who flew to him in their aircraft. Then such strange statements were attributed to stress, and later the professor actually stopped talking about it publicly, but the locals remembered the case.
Several years passed and the episode was partially repeated, but now with different characters. A local resident was walking in the forest with a dog, when suddenly the dog froze abruptly, whined loudly and rushed headlong through the bushes in an unknown direction - such behavior had never been noticed behind him, as well as such a strong fright. Looking around, the man saw a dark figure in the distance behind the trees, resembling a huge man in its outlines. Body and soul were seized by an animal fear, I wanted to run wherever they looked, but in these few seconds the figure disappeared, and the local resident calmly returned home, where a few hours later the dog came running.
Local folklore continued to be replenished with other amazing stories. One night, a loud rumble came from the forest, as if from a powerful engine. It was strange, since no construction equipment or tractors heading into the forest had been seen before, and who works in the forest at night? The hum continued all night, and by morning it stopped. In the morning, several men went to see if the poachers had started illegal logging, but they found no traces - neither poachers, nor heavy equipment. They say that this was repeated many times, but no one dared to go into the forest at night.
Since the late 60s, near the Catoire station, unknown lights in the sky began to be regularly noticed - these were bright luminous points and oval shapes that appear both at night and during the day. Skeptics then agreed that the Sheremetyevo airport, located relatively nearby, was to blame for everything. Previously, the lights were from military aircraft, and when Sheremetyevo became a civilian airport - from passenger ones. Later, the airport began to seriously expand, preparing for the 1980 Olympics, so the night rumble from the forest was attributed to it. However, there were many who adhered to a different version, bringing together all the mystical stories.

On July 11, 1997 at 11 o'clock in the evening a certain photographer Anatoly Todorov, participating in a children's party on the territory of the "Cosmos" camp near the Catuar station, photographed a UFO in the sky. Coming out of the building into the street, he suddenly saw a very bright star lit up in the sky, then turned into an oval luminous object, swept across the sky and disappeared behind the nearest forest. Then history repeated itself, and the photographer managed to take a series of pictures with his film camera. Later, these pictures were subjected to a thorough examination and recognized as real, without any photomontage, but they were never returned to the photographer. A. Todorov has since announced a real hunt for UFOs and made many unsuccessful attempts to track and photograph him. A year later, in July 1998, A. Todorov again found himself in the vicinity of Nekrasovsky. By that time, he was already desperate to see a UFO again and, as often happens at such moments, mysterious lights again lit up in the sky. The photographer ran for the camera, but in those few minutes the lights disappeared.
Already in the 2000s, a new genre of local mystical stories appeared, namely, time travel. One summer resident, having gone into the forest for mushrooms, did not return by evening. In the morning, they gathered volunteers and went in search of him - they shouted, whistled, called by name, but all to no avail. They already wanted to contact the police and the Ministry of Emergency Situations, when suddenly the disappeared, as if nothing had happened, left the forest with a basket full of mushrooms. When he learned that he had been gone for almost two days, and today they were combing the forest all day, he was extremely surprised. According to him, he was absent no more than three hours and did not go deep into the forest. So think here what you want.
The expedition of the "Cosmopoisk" association, an all-Russian research organization that has been studying all kinds of anomalies in all manifestations for many years, also visited the vicinity of Catuar. Experts interviewed local residents, and numerous stories of contact with the unknown were systematized. On their basis, the researchers identified the zone in which most of these events took place. If you connect the stations Catuar, Bely Rost and Trudovaya on the map with straight lines, you get a triangle, which received the unofficial name of Katuarsky - this is one of the most famous anomalous zones in the Moscow region.
However, Vadim Chernobrov - the head of the Kosmopoisk association - advises not to be too impressionable and "separate the wheat from the chaff":
Nevertheless, even today, various inexplicable events and phenomena periodically occur in the Catuar Triangle, and many questions have yet to be answered.
