Surrounded by the ridges of the Northern Tien Shan Kun gay Ala-Too and Terskey Ala-Too, at an altitude of 1609 m above sea level at the bottom of a deep tectonic depression, the largest and deepest lake of Kyrgyzstan, Issyk-Kul, is located.
