The mysterious journey in the middle of 1911 was organized by the then well-known company called Sanetti. The trip was intended only for members of Italy's wealthy and influential families. The journey was organized on a small train with only a locomotive and three passenger carriages. A total of 106 people left, not counting the crew. Nothing boded trouble, and the trip was calm. But everything changed dramatically when the train entered the Lombard Tunnel.
On the other side of the tunnel, the train never showed up. As strange as it may sound, the train simply disappeared along with the passengers and crew. By a happy coincidence, only two people did not suffer this fate. According to them, really strange things started happening in the tunnel. Ahead a white cloud appeared, which was so thick that nothing could be seen through it. As soon as the train began to enter it, all the passengers began to wear out and panic, as if there were only insane people in the cars. Two people managed to jump off the train before it was completely engulfed in a foggy cloud.
Immediately after the incident, police officers carefully examined not only the tunnel itself, but also the adjacent territory. But no matter how hard they tried and no matter how much they expanded the boundaries of the search, they could not find any traces of this incident. The local authorities decided to brick it up and never again remember the terrible tragedy. But the relatives of the disappeared people did not calm down, because they wanted to get an explanation of what had happened. Many began to conduct their own investigations. In early 1926, one of the relatives was able to find an interesting fact from the data obtained in the archive. According to this data, exactly 104 Italians appeared in Mexico, who unanimously claimed that they had arrived here by train. But an even stranger fact was that this entry was made in 1845.
All 104 people were considered insane, so the local authorities placed them in a psychiatric hospital, where they died under the close supervision of experienced doctors of the time. As reported, their things simply could not be from this time, since they were very different. Particular attention was paid to the snuff-box, on which the table was made in 1907.
Attempts to find the train continued for many years until, during the Second World War, the tunnel was completely destroyed by enemy bombers.
