In 2007, an article about ningen appeared in the Japanese magazine Mu. The publication told about the history of the discovery of the creature, its appearance, behavior. Science did not recognize the existence of the ningen, his photographs and videos are not of high quality. In his article, the author refers to an acquaintance who participated in the JARPA program that studied cetaceans.
JARPA program
In 1987, Japan banned whaling in Antarctic waters. Then the JARPA program appeared. It was aimed at studying cetaceans, but in reality it was only a cover. The Japanese continued their whaling. Only in 2014 this fact was recognized by the UN. Japan received an order to stop whaling, but refused to comply. JARPA participants began reporting encounters with strange creatures in Antarctic waters from the very beginning of the program. After the publication of the article, many photographs of the ningen appeared in the magazine "Mu".
What does ningen look like?
Most eyewitnesses describe him as a white creature several tens of meters long. He has a human face, but his features are not as pronounced as those of humans. Different people describe his body in different ways. Someone claims that he has arms and legs, someone - that the ningen has a tail like a mermaid. Occasionally there is evidence that this creature's limbs are flippers or none at all. Eyewitnesses claim that there are five fingers on his hands and feet. From afar, the ningen can be mistaken for a huge white whale. The largest are more like icebergs.

Ningen in conspiracy
Despite the fact that reports of ningen have just begun to appear, a real conspiracy theory has already emerged around these creatures. Conspiracy theorists claim that the Japanese authorities have long known everything about the ningen. But the government is hiding this information. All detailed characteristics and high-quality photographs are stored in the archives under the heading "Top Secret". Ordinary people are left with only the stories of many eyewitnesses and a few photos where it is difficult to see the ningen well.
According to these conspiracy theorists, the Japanese government is not going to release the collected information. Why? The conspiracy theorists disagree on this issue. Some say that the ningen are aliens and the government's goal is to hide their existence. Another version boils down to the fact that the disclosure of information about the ningen may reveal Japanese fraud with the JARPA program. The third theory claims that information about the ningen is simply not needed by the people, and the government does not publish it.
Is it only in Antarctica?
Ningen was not only seen in Antarctic waters. Reports about him came from the coast of Namibia. The description was identical to that of the Japanese whalers.
In 1982, military divers trained in Lake Baikal. At a depth of 50 meters, they saw strange creatures. They were white, three meters long, and looked like humans. The command decided to catch at least one creature. Six soldiers and an officer went under the water. They took with them a net, which they threw over the first creature they met. The catchers were immediately thrown out of the water. from an instant change in pressure, they were overtaken by decompression sickness. three died on the spot, the rest were disabled.
Such creatures were also seen on the Black Sea. One of the vacationers said that one day he went on a spearfishing. A flock of white creatures swam out to meet him. By description, they are most similar to ningen. For several minutes they looked at the person they met, and he looked at them. After that, each went to his own side.
