Vedlozero is a reservoir located in the Pryazhinsky District of the Republic of Karelia. Here people have seen a strange creature more than once, possibly a guest from space.
This amazing story began in 1928, when one frosty night the inhabitants of the village of Shuknavolok, near Vedlozero, observed an unidentified flying object in the shape of a cylinder. Eyewitnesses claimed that the object circled randomly over the area, as if looking for a place to land. In its tail, against the background of the night sky, an orange glow resembling fire was clearly visible. Having made another circle, the faulty apparatus fell into the lake and, breaking through the ice, went to the bottom.
Since then, on the banks of Vedlozero, they began to see a whitish creature a little over a meter tall, with a large head and slender limbs. At the sight of people, it immediately dived back into the water, which is why it received the nickname "Water". With each passing year, the outlandish Vodyanoy caught my eye less and less, until he disappeared completely.
By the age of 70, the hype around the alien guest had subsided and the lake began to be considered common again. But on a summer evening in 1991, the creature was again seen by fishermen. This event caused a lot of noise, to the extent that local old-timers brought the priest to bless the "damned" reservoir.
Since then, no one has seen Vodyanoy, but the arriving fishermen, who sometimes spend the night in tents on the shore, have their own opinion on this matter:
“You used to lie in your tent and hear sloshing sounds approaching from the water. This is something alive and obviously larger than a muskrat or a beaver. And I don't want to go out and look for the truth in the dark, where the devil himself breaks his leg. Yes, and a little scary, to be honest …"
