After the defeat of the Third Reich, there were reports that the Nazis had the most advanced scientific technology and inventions, ranging from miracle weapons to "flying saucers".
One of the most important sensations concerned the stay of the Nazis in Antarctica - they say, under the many-meter thick ice, their secret bases are still preserved.
In recent years, a lot of books have appeared about the secrets of the Third Reich. Some of them claim that the fascists managed to create a whole "under-ice" state in Antarctica. Hundreds of people and thousands of tons of cargo have been transported there, into the territory known as Queen Maud Land, since the beginning of the war. And it was on Lake Vostok (today it is a territory under the jurisdiction of Russia) that Baza 211, or New Swabia, was founded.

It is said that German factories were located in the caves around the lake, producing the latest military development - "discs", or, as they were called in the United States, "pancakes", or even easier - "flying saucers". Allegedly, it was with this scourge that the famous Admiral Byrd faced, who led the American military expedition to Antarctica, the purpose of which was to destroy German submarines. "Pancakes" fluttered out of the Antarctic waters like real Valkyries.

However, no matter how realistic it may seem, such revelations should be recognized as fiction. Although, in fairness, we note that the Germans really actively explored Antarctica and tried to gain a foothold there. But … the project was recognized as inappropriate.

But here are other geographic latitudes, albeit with a harsh climate, but located closer, the Nazis settled down with truly Aryan stubbornness. In the waters of the Baltic and North Seas and even in the waters of the Arctic Ocean, German submarine bases appeared regularly. Although the largest number of them were located in countries that had friendly relations with the Reich. Most of them were on the coast of Norway and Finland. German submarines, which controlled the movement of allied caravans to Murmansk and Arkhangelsk, entered these bases to be repaired and replenish supplies of fuel, water and food.
But in addition to completely legal locations, the Nazis had many secret bases. And not only in the Scandinavian countries.
Several objects of this kind were found even in Russia, that is, in the deep rear of the Soviet army. They were even in Siberia - at the mouths of the Ob, Kolyma and Lena. The facilities located in the wilderness were intended for military operations that the Germans planned, but never carried out. Several bases were located on distant Arctic islands. One of them - "Basis Nord" - was on the Kola Peninsula and was used at the beginning of World War II … to strike at the allies. As well as the German airfield on the Soviet island of Novaya Zemlya. Indeed, until June 1941, the USSR gave the Reich the right to build military bases on its territory.

In addition to the northern latitudes, the Nazis looked to the south with no less lust. And it is not surprising that after the defeat of the Reich, the German brothers in arms found a warm welcome from their North African friends. At least 2,000 Nazis settled in Egypt for permanent residence and about 8,000 found temporary shelter there.
Otto Skorzeny, for example, created the Egyptian intelligence service, the chief of the Warsaw Gestapo Leopold Gleim - the secret police, the Wehrmacht general Oskar Mintzel - the tank troops! After the war, the Germans created the "Arab-German Center for Emigration", which was engaged in recruiting former Wehrmacht officers to serve in the armies of the Arab states. The center was run by a former Nazi (are there any Nazis former?) Lieutenant Colonel Hans Müller, who after converting to Islam became a Syrian citizen Hosan Bey.
South America was of equal interest to the Germans. At one time, Hitler said: "We will give South America not only our money and our initiative, we will re-educate it in the spirit of our worldview." This is what happened when pro-fascist governments came to power in South America.
Germany maintained friendly relations with Brazil, Chile, Uruguay, Paraguay, Argentina. It was on the territory of these countries that the secret German bases were located after the war.
After the war, many bases appeared in the Amazon Valley disguised as hacienda. According to some reports, secret laboratories were built on these hacienda. The young population of fascists was also brought up there. Of course, in the spirit of racially pure doctrine. But the most interesting thing is that under an agreement with Argentine President Peron, a special region was created on the border between Argentina and Bolivia: these lands were acquired exclusively by German emigrants, mostly fugitive Nazi criminals. vast tracts of land (by the way, until now the area of German possessions in Argentina is equal in area to Bavaria). In April-May 1945, ships loaded with passengers with new documents in their pockets went there. Those who could not be legalized because of a too bloody past were transported by submarines.

However, the largest number of fugitives ended up not in North Africa, not in South America, and even more so not in the ice of the Arctic and Antarctica, but in the freest and most democratic country in the world - the USA …
After the war, everyone who was associated with German military secrets was taken out and lured out: both scientists developing new technologies for Hitler, and officers who owned secret plans and other valuable information.
Nuclear scientists were especially "lucky". They were sent to work in a wild and desolate place known as Los Alamos. For hundreds of miles around the buildings of the laboratories - sands, sands, sands … But next to it is a test site. Among them is the famous creator of the Apollo lunar project, SS Obersturmbannfuehrer Werner von Braun, who, under Hitler, created rockets for the Reich at the Baltic island base of Pünemünde.
Americans were interested in literally everything: the names of agents that can be used, information about Nazi treasures, new turns of scientific thought, including the most incredible ones.
And from that moment on, a lot of the most incredible rumors appeared: that the Germans gave the Americans the project of "disco" (nowadays UFOs are the very gift of the Nazis), and that thanks to them the USA flew to Lupa (curious that several US flights to the moon were carried out on April 20 - the birthday of the Fuhrer. Strange coincidence, isn't it?), and that the Nazis even flew to Alpha Centauri. There was also a rumor that a rocket with a man on board had been successfully launched from the Antarctic New Swabia.
Rumors periodically emerge today. As, incidentally, the admiral Byrd's admission that the "pancakes" (or UFOs) are not of alien, but rather German origin. From the same line and the message of one of the American astronauts that during a space flight he saw spaceships on the moon. And, oddly enough, they had Nazi symbols on their bodies.
