The psychic's best friend, artist Yuri Nikulin, came to his funeral in clown makeup.
On September 10, 120 years ago, the famous telepath Wolf Messing was born. He guessed the thoughts of people, found missing objects and predicted the future. He entered the Kremlin to Stalin without a pass. Several studies and memoirs of loved ones have been published about him.
He made his first prediction at the age of six. Once little Wolf disarmed his father, who was scolding him, saying that in the morning their cow, the nurse of this poor family, would die. The head of the family did not believe it, but the next day everything came true.
Young Messing is credited with many miracles: at the age of 11 he met a giant who called him the son of God, in his teens he deceived the controller by slipping him a piece of newspaper instead of a ticket, at the age of twenty he helped to find the missing diamonds from the house of Count Czartoryski.
During the years of wandering, the eccentric young man managed to work in Polish traveling circuses. There he became seriously interested in illusionism and pop telepathy. In his autobiography, he tells how he visited Germany, Austria, England, France, even India, where he saw Mahatma Gandhi.
In those days, he ate poorly and looked very much like a dead man. During the day, when crowds of onlookers stormed the pavilion where Messing lay, he could not eat or drink, but at night he ran to the food locker and greedily devoured the meager supplies.
With the outbreak of World War II, Messing fled to the Soviet Union, which saved him from certain death. On September 1, 1939, German troops invaded Poland and began to drive Jews into the ghetto.
Messing writes in his autobiography that he predicted the death of Hitler and the collapse of Nazi Germany. And for this he was included in the list of personal enemies of the Fuhrer.

Messing hated the Nazis and happily helped the front. He bought two fighters: Yak-1 and Yak-4, in one of which pilot-ace Kovalev shot down four enemy planes.
This was a mandatory requirement from the administration. Any mysticism was exposed, and all miracles had to have a material basis. Another thing is that Messing did not see anything unusual in his craft. He said, "This is not mind reading, but muscle reading."
He perfected his natural talent to the limit, having learned from psychophysiological reactions: pulse, breathing, blink rate - to guess what a person is thinking.
When Messing was gone, Nikulin, interrupting the performance and not even having time to completely erase the clown's make-up from his face, came to the civil funeral service.
When he was assisted by his wife, Aida Messing, it was easier for him to perform. Then she died, and another assistant worked for her for some time. When he was alone on stage, he sweated and stuttered. It seemed to people that it was seething with his mystical energy, and he usually had a stomach ache from excitement.
A week later he was gone. In 1974, after a vascular operation, Wolf Messing died of pneumonia. He seemed to have a presentiment of this and managed to say goodbye to his apartment before he was hospitalized.
The deal did not take place, because Professor Krymsky, a pathologist, as promised, preserved the psychic's brain. It is now stored at the Moscow Brain Institute.
