Video: CAPPADOCIA UNDERGROUND - Rock Carving For Survival TURKISH SUBTITLE 2024, April

When preparing the material for the article Mentions about the underground inhabitants, when considering space images in Cappadocia, I came across interesting geological formations, similar to the hills of volcanoes:

One can see a vent and supposedly pouring out magma from this volcano. But this is not magma. There in Cappadocia there are sedimentary rocks all around. And these "tongues" of some masses are frozen mudflows. And the mouth of a volcano is the mouth of a mud volcano. It turned out that this volcano is not the only one there. We look further.

Slightly to the south there is another cone (hill) with mud streams that have obviously poured out once. In many territories of these masses, fields are cultivated, crops are grown. And from the surface of the earth it is hardly possible to understand about the cataclysm that happened here once.

Although, judging by these types of erosion of fragile sandstones and calcareous rocks, it can be understood that the rocks are not of sedimentary origin (not compressed), they are loose, not packed and are easily washed away even by rains:

These mud volcanoes and hills are visible on the horizon. Large ravines, almost canyons, may have been cut by residual water and mud outlets from these hills. Stone mushrooms are visible on the left.

Here are more outlets of mud masses. A village is located to the east. It is possible that the ancient part of this village remained under mudflows.

Another group of hills. But this is all a trifle compared to the huge volcanoes, of which there are just as many in Turkey and in particular in this place.

We move to the south. Another group of hills. Imagine that if each of them spewed streams of water, mud, gases - here's a flood for you. And that was in historical time. Why I decided so, thoughts will be below.

It is possible that at that time such large-scale processes were taking place all over the planet, only in different versions and force of the elements. Here are the buildings covered with clay (provided that their foundations are more ancient than the history of buildings says) and buried Rome and the perished Roman (ancient) Empire, the disappearance of Tartaria from the world maps.

See a place with larger outlets of water and mud. Although geology says that this is the ancient volcano Khasandag. From the southern slope it can be seen that streams once flowed.

Note the two shades of the breed. It is possible that at the beginning of the eruption magma came out, and everything ended in pyroclastic ash flows or mud. Or maybe these are traces from two periods of the eruption.

So why did I decide that the catastrophic events, the eruptions of these volcanoes and mud volcanoes took place in historical time, and not millions of years ago? Check out these cave cities in Cappadocia:

Why did people climb much higher and arrange temporary dwellings there? Only from the elements, from streams of water and mud. It is not known whether this helped them, did the water reach their shelters, or were only those who went to underground cities able to survive? Underground cities in this area indicate that either people knew about the upcoming catastrophe, or after the first stage of catastrophic phenomena they prepared.

There are several such underground cities in Cappadocia.

I think such massive stone wheels-valves served as protection not from invaders, but from mudflows. At least initially. After the end of the disaster, they had to dig out. It is unclear how things were with air supplies. There is water below the city plans - this was not a problem. You can stock up on food. But the air? No answer. And this is only a version so far.

Then, when the times of wars and marauders came after the disasters, these dungeons could again be the refuge of local residents. And only this remained in history.
