This story happened to a resident of a Russian city, Maxim Khramov, and was told by Sergey Solmov, his close friend, who was a witness and direct participant in these strange and at the same time amazing events. “It all started with the fact, Sergei says, that Max decided to marry. It was unexpected and strange for all of us - his friends and acquaintances. Generally speaking, Maxim is a good guy, sociable, cheerful, but in relations with girls, he is somehow frivolous, frivolous. They curl around Max like butterflies, and it is clear that he is pleased, but that's all.
And suddenly he sharply decided to get married, told all of us about the upcoming wedding. And in general, somehow he changed at once, became significant and somehow solemn. To all our questions he answered that he had finally met his soul mate and that he had dreamed of such a girl all his life. But he did not introduce the bride and did not tell almost anything about her.
And the time is approaching the wedding, we buy gifts, help Max with the organization of the celebration. We order a cafe, a toastmaster, cars - in a word, everything that is supposed to. And so two days before registration, Max agreed to introduce us to his fiancee. On this day they were to meet in the city park.
Bad acquaintance with the bride
We, of course, dropped everything and went with Max. We came to the park and waited. Time passes, but the girl does not appear. We have already started joking:
- Well, groom, where is your bride? Maybe she ran away from you?
Max laughed it off at first, then began to call her on her mobile, but she does not answer. Maybe you got busy with business before the wedding?..
We waited for more than an hour, and it was all in vain. Then they sent Max to look for a bride and each went their own way.

The bride turned out to be a ghostly shadow
First we called all the hospitals, then we drove to the address where the girl lived. The neighbors replied that there was no one like this here and that there never was … But Max accompanied his bride to this very apartment. He did not know her friends. Parents, as the girl said, live far away and will come only for the wedding. All this was incomprehensible and raised many questions, to which we could not answer …
The next day - on the eve of registration - did not bring clarity. The cafe was paid; everyone involved in the upcoming event called and asked to confirm orders. The bride never showed up.
… We decided to arrive at the registration in advance, hoping that, perhaps, something would become clear on the spot. But we never got to see the bride or her relatives. The registration was canceled, like everything else, the penalty was paid …
It was painful to look at Max, and we decided not to leave him alone. At night, a call rang on his phone: "I am waiting for you in the same place …"
We learned about these words later, and then Max silently broke off and ran from the apartment. While we were waking up and coming to our senses, he had already disappeared. Where was to look for a friend? What did he hear on the phone?
One thing was clear to us: the bride called Max, this explained his convulsive haste. But where could she call him? Only one place came into our heads - a park on the shores of Black Lake. And we rushed there …
Drowned Bride
… Even from afar we saw a strange couple on the shore: a girl dressed in a white dress was pulling a guy to her, and he somehow weakly and uncertainly resisted. But she suddenly wrapped her arms around him and, taking him away with her, rushed down from the steep bank into the cold dark water.
Somehow, having ripped off our clothes, we dived after. In early spring, the water was icy, and it made my arms and legs shrink. But we were lucky - we pulled out Max, already half-alive, but still not dead … One guy began to call the ambulance, and we continued to look for the girl. Alas, all our heroic efforts were in vain …
An ambulance arrived and took Max to the hospital. And before that, the driver told us that this is not the first time he comes here for such calls and the doctors have to pump out the idiots who for some reason climb into cold water, as if they are going crazy …
When the situation settled down a bit, we once again visited the lake shore. We walked around and talked to the local old women who, as you know, know everything about everyone. And they found out that, indeed, young guys are drowning in this place too often. Someone can be saved, but someone is not. And this dark story began, as it were, with the fact that one girl right before the wedding was abandoned by the groom, and she drowned herself in this lake out of grief.
It was a long time ago, but since then, no, no, yes, a drowned girl comes out of the depths to avenge her ruined life, and takes revenge, apparently, indiscriminately to every guy who meets on her way …
… Max, of course, recovered. He reacted to our story in a strange way, we still did not understand whether he believed in this mysticism or not. Many years have passed since then, and he is still not married, moreover, Maxim clearly shuns women. Well, apparently, everything takes time …"
