An unusually clear and strange mirage emerged in China's Hongzehu Lake on August 4, 2019. A whole "ghost town" suddenly appeared on the horizon in the afternoon.
It would seem - a common optical phenomenon, because who does not know about mirages and why they occur. However, in this case, everything turned out to be not so simple.
The fact is that the houses in the "ghost town" were old, with curved roof edges, such houses in China can be seen in old historical districts.
However, in the mirage, quite modern wind turbines were located next to them.
And no one has yet figured out which city it is, if this mirage shows a real city located somewhere nearby.
The strange mirage lasted only half an hour, after which the unusual city disappeared. According to archival records, similar mirages with unusual cities have been seen on Lake Hongzehu in the past decades, or rather twice - in the 1950s and in the 1960s.
This video went viral on Chinese social networks, people are vividly discussing which city could be reflected in this mirage, whether it was a chronomyrage, that is, a city from the past, or is it an ordinary modern city, just which one has not yet been found out.
