Periodic repetitions, inexplicable from the point of view of conventional logic, occur in the life of entire civilizations, and in the lives of individuals. What are these - random coincidences or laws of nature unknown to us? The answer to this question has not yet been found.
We say - Peter I, we mean - Caesar
Perhaps one of the most curious examples of such repetitions in the development of our civilization is the comparison of the histories of Ancient Rome and Moscow (also called the Third Rome). The ruler of Ancient Rome, Gaius Julius Caesar, as you know, became the first to constantly wear the title of "emperor". The same can be said about Peter I, who for the first time in the history of our country was awarded this title. The famous Julian calendar was introduced by Caesar in 46 BC. e. According to this calendar, the new year began on January 1. Peter I, by a special decree of December 15, 1699, introduced a calendar according to which the arrival of the new year was also celebrated on January 1. The headquarters created by Caesar in his army and the introduction of the position of chief of engineers in it is duplicated under Peter I by the foundation of the General Staff and the engineering troops.
Caesar wrote the works on the conduct of hostilities "Notes on the Gallic War" and "Notes on the Civil War", and Peter I wrote "The Rules of Battle" and "The Institution in Battle". But even if we do not take specific facts for comparison, then the characteristics of the personalities of Caesar and Peter the Great will be surprisingly similar. Both of them were great statesmen, political and military leaders, reformers and diplomats. There are still quite a lot of such coincidences to consider it an accident.
Such repetitions can be traced not only among historical figures separated by centuries, but also among entire dynasties. The most famous example is the genealogy of the Russian emperors Romanovs. The royal family began with Mikhail Romanov, who, before his official confirmation to reign, lived in 1613 in the Ipatiev Monastery. 305 years later, at the end of the dynasty's reign, the family of the last emperor Nicholas II also lived in the Ipatiev House. And yet - as the reign of the Romanovs began with the murder of the prince, so it ended in murder.
Ominous coincidences
But, undoubtedly, the most striking and classic case of coincidences is the fate of famous American presidents - Abraham Lincoln (1809-1865) and Johnson Fitzgerald Kennedy (1917-1963). The first was elected president in 1860, and the second exactly 100 years later - in 1960. They were both democrats, fighting for civil rights, equality between whites and blacks. It was for this that both were killed, and the presidents were killed by bullets that entered the head from behind.
Strange intersections can be traced in the fate of the presidential killers - John Booth (Lincoln's killer) and Lee Harvey Oswald (Kennedy's killer) were born in the southern United States (again, 100 years apart), adhered to extremist views and were killed before their trial. The fact that Lincoln was killed in Ford's theater and Kennedy in a Lincoln car manufactured at Ford's plant can be called a mockery of fate. Both were killed on Friday in front of the crowd and in front of their wives.
The presidents were replaced by vice presidents named Johnson - natives of the South of the United States and Democrats, whose age difference was all the same 100 years. By the way, the duplication in the destinies of the personal secretaries of the deceased presidents is absolutely stunning. Lincoln's secretary by the name of Kennedy advised him not to go to the theater that became the scene of the assassination, and Kennedy's secretary by the name of Lincoln urged the president not to travel to Dallas, where the plan to liquidate him was carried out.

Whether it's a fact or a vision
Quite a few people have tried to deduce the patterns of this strange time trap. The famous Russian poet Velimir Khlebnikov claimed that he, on the “basis of a divine vision,” deduced a certain cycle along which Russia allegedly develops. He said that in the future the country will be shaken by cataclysms every 12 years. The starting point was taken the year of the first Russian revolution - 1905.
Until now, his "vision" has been confirmed by real facts. 1917 - socialist revolution, 1929 - famine and collectivization, 1941 - the beginning of the Great Patriotic War, 1953 - the death of Stalin, which became a shock for the whole country, 1965 - the end of the Khrushchev thaw, 1977 - the adoption of a new Constitutions and minor changes in state policy, 1989 - the Berlin Wall collapsed, the collapse of the USSR began …
Another researcher, engineer Mogilevsky, took as a basis for the calculation the so-called Great Indication with a duration of 532 years (this is a large cosmic cycle of time, which was used by the ancients, existing since time immemorial). An example for Mogilevsky was the "earthquake" that happened in 1445 in Moscow. Add 532 to this year to get 1977. That is, the year when the earthquake occurred in Moscow. According to these calculations, we should expect the next "earthquake" in 2509.
Scientists from many countries and different directions have repeatedly tried to find an explanation for amazing facts and calculate the cycle of their repetition. Physicist Albert Einstein, in contrast to the theory of relativity, developed the so-called theory of the EPR effect (named after himself and his closest collaborators, Podolsky and Rosen). He tried to explain the phenomenon of repetitions in the atomic world and concluded that if something happened, then we must wait for the repetition of what happened again. However, the theory has not received confirmation, so it still exists at the level of speculation.
Psychiatrist Carl Jung developed his own theory. In his opinion, "some facts, seemingly completely random, can nevertheless enter into a kind of logical connection with each other." And the Russian historian, deputy director of the Historical and Archival Institute, Alexander Bezborodov, having found a number of mysterious historical periodic coincidences, came to the conclusion that these are all "coincidences for which there is no explanation yet."
Unanswered questions
Despite the fact that each scientist had their own methods of calculating the cyclicity, the conclusions of different people sometimes coincided. For example, in the 5th century BC. e. the Greek dialectical philosopher Heraclitus of Ephesus called the number of the cycle 10 800 years. In his opinion, after about 11 millennia everything in the world returns to normal.
24 centuries later, that is, in the 19th century, another philosopher, ideologist of communism, Friedrich Engels, made a conclusion based on his own observations. He believed that the duration of the existence of a civilization is about 10 thousand years. Both the one and the other philosophers called approximately the same terms.
In the 20th century, biophysicist Alexander Chizhevsky discovered periodically occurring in history bursts of activity and attacks of aggressiveness among all peoples of the Earth. His theory is based on the periodicity of solar activity. The period of activity he deduced in 11 years is very close to the cycle of the Eastern calendar, according to which most events repeat after 12 years.
What are these incredible patterns really? Will a person ever reveal this riddle, because even the sages of antiquity could not comprehend this secret? Probably, there is no need to rush and it is worth listening to their words: "The wisest thing is time, for it reveals everything."
