Here are five events that the Bible prophesies to us before Christ returns:

1. Mass apostasy

The apostle Paul clearly states:

“But the Spirit clearly says that in the last times some will depart from the faith, listening to deceiving spirits and the teachings of demons, through the hypocrisy of false believers, burned in their consciences” (First Epistle to Timothy 4: 1,2).

Apostasy is undoubtedly taking place - fewer and fewer people attend church.

In addition, we see a deviation from biblical truth towards human doctrines that pervert and distort the Scriptures to fit the personal beliefs of false teachers / shepherds / prophets.

2. The rampant growth of lawlessness

Paul also wrote:

“… The mystery of iniquity is already in action, only it will not be accomplished until the one who is holding back is taken from the environment now. And then the wicked will be revealed, whom the Lord Jesus will kill with the spirit of His mouth and destroy with the manifestation of His coming”(2 Thessalonians 2: 7,8).

Apparently, the "mystery of iniquity" already took place in the time of Paul; but today many who swear by the name of Christ do not keep the commandments. And although we cannot be saved by the commandments, those who will be saved keep them (1 John 3).

3. People will stop loving each other

Jesus prophesies the end of an age when he says:

“… And, due to the increase of iniquity, love will grow cold in many” (Holy Gospel of Matthew 24:12).

Paul adds:

"For people will be proud, avaricious, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, ungodly, unfriendly, irreconcilable, slanderers, incontinent, cruel, not loving good, traitors, impudent, pompous, more voluptuous than God." to Timothy 3: 2-4).

All you have to do is turn on the news to see that proud and hate people are multiplying all over the world.

4. Massive religious persecution will begin

According to the public organization “Voice of Martyrs”, in the last fifteen years of the new century, more people were killed for their faith than since the crucifixion of Christ 2000 years ago.

In other words, if you take everyone who was killed for their faith in the last 2000 years, and those who were killed in the last couple of decades, it turns out that in the modern era more died than in all the previous 2000 years!

Seriously: Look at the rise in popularity of ISIS …

5. Preaching the Gospel Around the World

In the Sermon on the Mount of Olives, Jesus speaks of the end times:

“And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a testimony to all nations; and then the end will come”(Holy Gospel of Matthew 24:14).

Have we not reached the point of saturation with the gospel? The Gospel has been preached throughout the world, on every continent and to all nations by the forces of pastors, missionaries and other Christians.

It looks like the return of Christ is not far off.

conclusions

This is what must happen before Christ returns to earth a second time: apostasy from faith and truth, growing lawlessness, cooling love, increasing persecution, and worldwide preaching of the gospel.

I believe that all of this has already happened; therefore I see no reason why Christ cannot come today or tomorrow.

This is a good reason to listen to Jesus' words:

"So keep on the watch, because you do not know at what hour your Lord is coming" (Holy Gospel of Matthew 24:42).

“Therefore, you also be ready, for at an hour you don’t think, the Son of Man will come” (Holy Gospel of Matthew 24:44).

God bless you!
