I heard about this story for a long time, and then I came across a detailed and interesting story about this unusual creature named Zana on the net. I want to share this story with you, dear readers.
In 1962, Moscow professor Alexander Mashkovtsev wandered into remote Abkhazian places. Heard amazing stories about the wild inhabitants of the mountains. I retold them to the world-renowned cryptozoologist Boris Porshnev. He dug deeper and found people who personally saw the "Bigfoot" captured here. And even talked to him. The descendants of the "snow woman" still live in the village of Tkhina in the Ochamchira region of Abkhazia, 78 kilometers from Sukhum. Their ancestors - that is, the "snow people" are called ocho-kochi here - it is in Mingrelian. And abnayu is in Abkhazian. They say that at one time there were a lot of them in the mountain forests. They even had to exterminate.
The pre-revolutionary leader of Abkhazia, Prince D. M. Achba, with his retinue hunted in the forests on Mount Zaadan. And once again I saw a furry giant. Ordered to catch him in the end. Which the servants did in an original way. One of them took off his sweaty pants and left them in a conspicuous place. "Bigfoot" -abnaue- came to smell. And while he was interested in fiddling with his pants, the hunters who jumped out of the ambush tied him up.
"Snow woman", which was called Zana, Prince Achba gave to his friend, Prince Chelokua, and he, in turn, gave it to Prince Eje Genaba. He then brought Zana to his possessions in the village of Tkhina, on the Mokva River. This is where all the fun began.
According to local residents, during her stay in Tkhine, Zana gave birth at least five times. Somehow she attracted the local male population and, apparently, she herself was not averse to …
Most of all she loved to swim in the Mokva River, she did it several times a day.
She also drank. And the prince himself taught her to drink, who, according to the legends, became Zana's first lover. What contributed to this is hard to say, maybe there was a sufficient amount of wine, maybe the relative cleanliness of Zana, or maybe the prince lacked human women or had some deviations in this regard …

Zana's first baby died immediately after birth, she dipped him into ice-cold water and naturally the baby could not stand such a test.
The rest of Zana's children were taken away so that she would not catch a cold as a firstborn. As a result, two sons (Khvit and Janda) and two daughters (Gomaza and Kojanir) survived. Only Khvit remained in Tkhino, where his brother and sisters have gone, no one knows.
Khvit was married twice, the second time to a Russian woman - Maria, from whose marriage in 1934 Raisa (Khvitovna) was born.
Until the last days, Zana did not change outwardly - she did not turn gray, did not lose teeth, remained in good physical shape. But she never learned to speak - she bellowed, growled, screamed, and when she was happy, she laughed with a thin metallic laugh. She also never smiled.
How many years Zana lived and no one knows why she died, and she died between 1880 and 1890.
